Albini died…holy mother of the god head. He was a genre maker…he was the godfather of making the best industrial music period without any tricks and extravagant gear, just bare bones industrial from 1980 on. Bent Razor may have got the commercial credit, but Albini was the true maestro, he just wasn’t a whore about it…Steve Albini: no posing, no bullshit, no gimmicks, no greed…solid until the end.
Hey, you don't need to throw shade at Trent just to prop up Steve. Both deserve respect for what they've brought to the table, regardless of bias or preference. Besides, Steve's body of work is much more than just straight Industrial, don't be reductive.
I agree with everything you said but have absolutely no idea why you're talking down Trent Reznor, or even comparing the two. Doing even bare bones research will show you that Reznor has placed artistry over adulation/money the vast majority of his entire career.
It warms my frijid pink heart that you must be moved since you tagged the date in the comment. These sagas and sonic revelations we leave unearthed as little Easter eggs or time capsule gifts for our future selves is mostly all I am staying alive for, nowadays. And it can be enough for us to keep showing up each day in direct opposition to the bright, painful routine and tragicomic "Groundhog's Day" Mœbius strip Hanna-Barbera background cels repeating in Sysiphusian absurdity ad infinitum.....I..... MEAN WHO THE LEGENDS HERE IN 2024?!?!
I really enjoyed the compositions of this band especially the amazing effects which grabbed my mind and I eventually fell in love with these noises. Thank you all :)
I pulled this up on my tv to see how many names I could recognize. There's actually quite a few. Ash Bowie, Iain Burgess, Damon Che, Santiago Durango, Dave Grohl, Polly Harvey, Ian MacKaye, Tara Jane O'Neil, Jim O'Rourke, David Pajo, Guy Picciotto, Amy Pickering, Dave Riley, Gavin Rossdale, Corey Rusk, Ian Svenonius, Jeff Tweedy, Britt Walford, David Yow.
I was surprised to see everyone from Fugazi there. There’s a full list on the Discogs entry for Futurist. Watt’s on there and I also saw some names from Jawbox.

Sat down to give this bad boy a full listen, and I really didn't expect movement 7 to just be the first track from "Terraform." On a side note, someone talk me out of spending my Bidenbux on the German copy of "The Futurist" that's up on Discogs right now.
If you buy it, you could do an actual rip of it. Also, I know “Didn’t We Deserve...” very well. These are different - pretty sure Movement 7 is in 4/4 time (but it’s hard to tell, the stress pattern is so strange. On closer inspection, it might be 13/4 or something weird. There’s an extra beat on that bass line).
@@Wyattporter You're right. Gave "Didn't We Deserve..." another listen and the song is definitely different, though the method is the same. It's just that I heard Movement 7 and immediately thought, "Hey...this is familiar." I probably got them mixed up because I've listened to the version with the mixed up sides before and thus recognized Movement 7. Where exactly is your version from if you don't own the record? Do you own that one bootleg? Or is this stitched together from other youtube vids? Also, what's up with that guy in the comments section who apparently owns the record? Did he ever reveal whose name on the cover is circled on his?
@@dickdick130 I don’t have one, I looked around at all the bootlegs already on RUclips + all the info about the record on the Internet and put this together from that. One of them is at the wrong speed, somehow, it’s a few tones too low. Also, what a weird guy. I didn’t see his two replies.
@@Wyattporter i think the drumming sounds somewhat similar to The Guy Who Invented Fire, but still completely different songs. Also some similarities to Doris, but idk..

Amazing and ingtriguing record. But one random note at around 21:30 +- there is dutch premier leageu pundit commentary in the background discussing Hereveen versus PSV Eindhoven and other results of that fixtures weekend

Does trent let the song take on a life of it's own by writing all the music himself
RIP STEVE ALBINI

Ads in the middle of songs should be a crime
Shit, there’s ads on this? I’ll get on that when I get home. Sorry about that.
You know, because I'm a small channel, I don't think I'm allowed to remove the ads. I'm really sorry about that, it sucks.
@@Wyattporter I’m aware this is a RUclips problem and not an uploader problem. It’s a common problem with live sets as well. RUclips is cancer for art
I suggest you get an adblocker, I used to go crazy about the ads myself, got an adblocker and the problem disappeared.
