I learned last night from a hydrologists in a different farmers RUclipsrs video. If you're planting behind a cultivator. Adjust your seed depth down a 1/2" deeper to allow for soil settling. If you're planting early. Also plant your seed a 1/2" deeper to protect the seed from soil temperature fluctuations. 2-1/2" seed depth is that sweet spot for both situations. Just thought I'd share this knowledge I learned. Best wishes with timely rain during this growing seasons.
Every hour the planter let you spend with your growing family is precious. Particularly as you have a very young one. They grow up so fast in the first 2 or 3 years.
Hi Nathan. Just wanted to say that i watch about 10-12 You tube channels, and you are my favorite Ag tuber by far. I am always clicking on your videos first b4 any others. You tie for my number 1 with a modernsteader tuber in New Hampshire . Thank-you for your dedication and work on this channel - just ordered some swag from your channel...
I have the rock issue too and staggered them and did not help, but that is with the Martin closing wheel on one side and john deeres rubber wheel on the other
I'm happy for you Nathan. Your done "hopefully" and you got rain. We did too. About a half inch. Showing no rain for the next week. 30hrs on a tractor is a lot and will add up quickly in your favor. Take care.
I know you were looking for where to mount your little water tank for washing your hands. I saw a planter the other day with one mounted on the back of the planter behind the seed tank. Maybe there, with a hose/valve run down lower so you don't need to climb up to use it. 🤷♂️
Great video and review of the planter. You may not be ready to answer this at this time. However, because of the good result with the corn planter when it's time to upgrade the being planter, are you going to go to the same width of being planter that the corn planter is? Also, is there any consideration to doing strip till with the being planter?
I have some questions about your conceal system. what depth were you running it at? I know precision recommends only 1-1.5" but I didn't know if you ran it deeper than that or not. Did you ever notice the conceal would pop seeds out of the trench? I read some people had problems with that and some didn't. We're looking at this setup on a Kinze planter and like the design and taking less power to pull vs a fertilizer opener.
I would say 1.5 -2 inches deep. I never noticed any seeds popped out that I would attribute to the conceal. Overall, I thought they worked really well.
Very nice planter, you are so good with maintenance. Do you think that people who trade planters every other or every year don’t do the same maintenance program that you do. Once you have that planter for a year and work the bugs out of it that will be a great planter for your farm. Hope you get the timely rains that you will need. Next up nitrogen application.
Rather than an alarm. Is there a way to program buttons to start all aspects of planter with one button? Or is there an operational reason to press the button manually later?
I would like to see the snake nest of wires, tubes and hoses designed and placed in a logical organized manner to avoid chaffing, and pinch points. It's like they just turn a zip tie monkey loose.

thats a smart alarm that Deere should have on the system!
Nice review.

Thanks a lot I really enjoy the video

Do you do a separate maintenance video? This to help recall all of the issues and to do in winter.
Seeing the hose leak. This seemed the thing to do.
3:55 charging! Monocyots Forward!

How many of your team are comfortable running the new planter?
Just me

On another RUclipsr the planter has track vs the tires you have. Thoughts as to less compaction?
Yes, less compaction. Also, $70,000 option
Great video!
Is there a difference in bean emergence between the planters this year? I know you planted some beans with the 1775.
I felt like the 30" rows came up a little better but they're are too many variables to attribute that to the planter
Do you believe with the 24 row and less compaction and fertilizer placement will make the 300bushel more likely to happen
It's a small factor but yes
You planted beans with this rig too. Would have even less hours planting

I don't know. There is a button to turn the ExactRate system on in the monitor and it defaults to off every key cycle.

How many acres a day could you get?
About 325 was the most I did but 400 would be easily doable if I was pushing.
What blend did you use this year with your infurrow
4.75 gallons of QLF 7-21-3 with a quart of Carbon Rx from concept ag
3:53 BREATH DEEPLY THE O2 !!!!
that is pretty....... just saying.... ;) almost sexy like that traktor!! but not quite SEXY, but very pretty!!!
