Hi virtual friend😂👍🏼nice tour of your house.not sure if i was here before 1k subs. That was likely when your videos were about programming 😅? But definitely a top quality video again! Still can find out your age approaching 40 and its so true your body starts to give way after 30s🥲
40k renovation for 5 room hdb is consider cheap, I love the simple design while also making it feel comfy and natural! The new puppy added some liveliness to your place! Overall a very well kept house even after 1 year. Good job Alex!
I love the design too. Not sure if it is cheap considering that he did not do much with his kitchen, installed vinyl floorings and he kept carpentry limited to his living room. If he had hacked any walls as he suggested for his study room, his costs will also quickly add up. And if not wrong, he engaged a contractor and not a ID.
You managed to make your 5-rm look so spacious! Anw my favourite bits of the video were when your dog made appearances. You should have him running through more rooms more of the time in future videos hehe
support you since a long long time ago!!!!!! can't believe you're approaching forty. i'm still hoping to get my first house in 4 years time but learning a lot from you already
Really great value from your content. With so much information everywhere nowadays, it's hard to really synthesize the information and make our own decisions. Great to have your channel around with you as our "bro" to guide us! Cheers!
Little advice for kitchen: when changing the layout, consider your ‘journey’ there. It might be much more convenient to place fridge closer to sink, then some counter space and then hob. This way, you’ll be able to navigate easier: take out stuff, wash it, chop/process, then cook. Also corner counters will either hold some ‘dead’ space, be inconvenient to use or require extra money for practical rollout shelving. But, in the end of the day, up to your taste and usage. Good luck! :)
Hi, amazed by your renovation and that most of your stuff are bought from 淘宝! I just bought my first home so gonna faced lots of renovation stuff. Lucky the 5i resale flat I bought is moved in ready except I need to change the sliding windows to casement, insect screen 😅, fix the entire flooring, fix the toilet bowl (not planning to hack the whole 2 bathrooms), curtains, lightings, wardrobes etc. Hopefully it won't cost a bomb. Btw, where did you buy the recline L sofa? Thanks
Hi, chance upon your video as I am looking at house design, renovation etc for a newly flat that I bought recently. Your introduction about digital door lock is super great and useful. Thanks!
Found your content recently! Still too young to really be buying houses but I absolutely love what you've done for the smart home! Will be following some tricks for where I stay.
One of the best channel and content since it started. Love your unbiased reviews on home renovation and tech stuff which really helps on my consideration for my upcoming new house! Hope u get your 100k Subs sooner than 5 years!
Biggest double thumbs up. Excellent presentation. Explanation very sharp, short and straightforward to the point. I watched these video clip many times
Have been here since the first home tour! Asked Alex for some advice on instagram and he was really kind to show me the ropes! Now my room is officially smart!
Hello Alex, we have booked for hdb and i see your videos are very helpful for our future renovations. We will take your inputs for building our smart home. Your smart home building video was very informative. Keep doing the same . Waiting for your next video
Hey Alex! Just wanna say thank you so much for the transparency in revealing some of the pricing n where you got the items :-) makes it very convenient for us to follow!
Totally love your house design! Thanks for taking so much effort and explaining to us your design and considerations! Keep up the good work and congratulations to your 20k subs!
Wow! Well done Alex! Very comfy place with that space..good efforts! Money well spent too. I like the concealed cupboards concept. In Asia, things tend to collect alot of dust..very practical idea. Congratulations to have it designed the way you wanted it. Excellent.
yup im one of the OG sub, used your tips for my home reno previously as the HDB layout is similar to mine, then realize im actually your neighbour! lol
Wow it’s been a year already! Hello! Really appreciate all the videos you have put out and giving your honest feedbacks for average Singaporeans to follow along.
been following since the very beginning! i absolutely love the content + tips/tricks that you share. can't believe it's been a year, very helpful info and can't wait to apply to my own home! jiayou to 100k! 🎉
hi Alex, good rundown of your decisions. it seems like the most common feedback i hear as a designer, is that owners wished they were more daring and bold in their choices to merge spaces. this is due in part to hacking costs, and also the permanence of such a decision. but even for me personally, with the rise of folding doors and screens, we really get more functionality and flexibility without sacrificing aesthetics. great video all the same!
Alex, I booked marked this video because I am gg to do my Reno next year soon so am revisiting this video to refresh my mind about the tips that you have mentioned in this video. One request that I have is - Can you list your item purchase link in the video so that we can check and even buy the same item because mine is also a 5 room unit and its also easier to get the same item knowing that its not a sponsored video and your endorsement of the products you purchase is a 100% safety mark for me. Looking forward to the sofa link..haha. Thanks once again.
hey there thanks for the support. I have all the taobao links in my taobao home review video description, can refer over there ruclips.net/video/PWa4RAUB3eA/видео.html
Hi! Great to see this and hear your regrets and recommendation. I ended up buying all my toilet furnishing from local supplier in view of the warranty and also kinda didn't have the time to wait for shipping in view of covid impact on shipment. Still love your Kohler basin. The way the water drainage is done is like so easy to maintain. What I got was a simple basin n toilet bowl from Baron. No under sink cabinet as it is easier to wash the toilet floors. I have elderly living with me so had to go for more anti-slip flooring.
@@AlexTeo this I agree and initially had wanted to have them but my toilet is just not conducive due to the layout of the drainage pipes especially so for the placement of toilet I can't change so the length of the area to put a basic is like L60cm x D50 max.
Gr8 vid. I see that your gaming room does not have an aircon. The only choice would be to install new mitsubishi ac system 2- living and suggested study and system 3- gym room, entertainment room and masterbedroom. This ac setup suitable for wfh. For suggested study area i think you should go for a higher capacity ac 3.5kw power. Can consider changing ac as i believe the ac are from the previous owner
Here since almost the first video! Although I didn't realise it at the time. Thanks for the tips, very down to earth which seldom happens in ID vids :) saving these for when I'm designing a home of my own.
Hi Alex, I like all your home tour videos and all the tips on how to go about doing the reno. Especially the part about how you implemented smart features to your new house. So cool! Thanks again for sharing. (:
Hi Alex, great to see a refreshed home tour again. If you had hacked the wall between the study and common room, that would then be a concern for the next buyer when you decide to sell right? I think your study is beautifully done. Regarding the aircon issue, perhaps, you can place your 4th unit in your study if a 2nd compressor is out of the question. The fixed glass window can be made movable to allow aircon into the living when you need it. Just a suggestion.
have to go with 2nd compressor if I want another unit and need to do aircon piping which is going to be massive. It will be fine if there is no covid and still traveling frequently, it is the wfh that caught me off guard. Working in the day without aircon is really hot lol
@@AlexTeo not sure if you've considered this already, but perhaps portable aircons might be an alternative? anws, loved your videos - have been following for a while, esp for the reno and smart home stuff. super practical, super sensible, and really refreshing! will likely be revisiting your videos once i get around to buying a flat and doing some reno myself.

I’ve been watching you from the start, congrats on 20K! Personally I think your house design falls under Nordic mixed with modern… not my style, definitely, but I can tell that you put in a lot of thought into the place and making it truly your home. Heartwarming when I see owners putting in the time and effort to upkeep their place beyond just a hefty renovation cost. Take care of your home and it’ll take care of you. Cheers Alex! Always enjoy your home appliance reviews :)
thank thanks! nordic is considered scandi which is using a lot of wood right? Yeah 100% agree that the upkeep is important, no point spend so much on renovation just to look good for the first 3 months. More home appliance reviews coming!
This is my first time leaving a comment on RUclips. Just want to say I love your LG Ergo Monitor a lot and have been eyeing on it since then! Nice set-up you have there! :)
Very nice house design, and very soothing for the eye. Actually I think the theme is still "Modern", as the lines of the furniture and fixtures are all simple and clean, typical of the modern style. 混搭风 I think is what we call the Eclectic style in English. It's usually a mixture of styles from different decades, not easy to pull off. But that's just my opinion, I may be wrong 😅
Truly inspring how one can take care of their nest so well with constant improvement. Your lighting choices in this home really stand out to me. off topic, how much you spend a month on your dog?
Hey Alex! Thanks for yet another really informative home video! Love watching them and always looking forward to them! Had been following your channel ever since I chanced upon it some time back and immediately subscribed from that 1st video! I am getting my 1st place very soon and am now looking into deco and reno ideas and drawing inspirations from you. Looking forward to more videos! Cheers!
Hi Alex, may I know the depth you've chosen for your TV feature wall storage cabinet? My living hall is only 3.3m in width so was wondering will adding an end-to-end storage cabinet makes the space even smaller.
Been following you since the first video. Love your style of presenting and the info and tips you share. Hope to see more reno and home tech tips videos. Keep it up!

Hi Alex, may I know the depth you've chosen for your TV feature wall storage cabinet? My living hall is only 3.3m in width so was wondering will adding an end-to-end storage cabinet makes the space even smaller.
Thank you Alex. Really enjoyed your video and the information you gave are very useful.
