Had a 2020 330i xDrive before getting the new 2023 M340i xDrive and honestly the 330i never left me wanting more power. It’s quick, efficient, and was a blast to drive. It’s even more fun off the line (and with more pops & burbles) once you code Sport+, which BMW USA deletes on 330i models. Having said that, love the raw power above 70MPH that the M340i gives me now…and even more so with Sport+ engaged.

I rented one through Sixt (cheapest car they had). I fell in love with it. Such an underrated car for ride, handling, and power. I had some guy in a Subaru Legacy 3.6 try to keep up with me on the corners on a highway coming into Santa Fe. He had no chance.

  • @mbroszko1

Ben...you actually did not put the transmission/throttle response in Sport mode. You have to tap down on the shift lever one time to do so.
When you put the vehicle in sports mode, it only adjusted things like steering feel/dampers but in order in increase throttle response/transmission, you need to tap down on that lever.
Try it next time. The transmission shifts much faster, and more aggressively. Great review!
