Turns out she didn’t know sign language at all and was just making it up. Then it turned out she’d been hired before and they’d never had any complaints so thought she must be good 😂😂😂
This is one of my favorite episodes. As a coder, when you encounter a problem that you cannot debug, understand, or resolve, it nags at you like a sore tooth. You cannot let it go until you figure it out. So the scenes of him slowly losing his mind trying to figure it out (plus the Close Encounters of the Third Kind references) resonate with me. Linda's virtual triathlon was a joke then, but I'm doing exactly that right now. They're called the Conqueror Challenges. They use your fitness tracker to track your progress and google maps / street view to show you where you currently are in your challenge. You get a real, beautiful, metal medal at the end, and whilst it's not for charity, they plant trees and stop bottles from entering the ocean as you hit milestones. It's getting me out and touching grass anyway. I did my 10k steps today. 😅
But the questions that have to be asked are - why aren't they planting trees anyway? As for the steps, after 6K it's diminishing returns in terms of how it affects your health, and in fact is more likely to cause joint problems later in life.
I put a phone in a shirt pocket once long before this episode aired. It also fell out of the pocket into a toilet:-) After I saw this episode, I knew that I was not alone. Hahaha!
Bastardo is also Italian for mutt. I met a couple of Italian students at a house party who worked as dog walkers. They kept saying that their favourite dog was "a bastard" which confused me for a while.

For whether it would be better to drown or to burn in a fire. Both are basically death by suffocation.
