Thanks so much for filming this and explaining it so clearly. That's what I've done in the past, but I think I obsessed a wee bit toooo much over length-versus-width calculated percentage differences. lol I like your approach much better: JUST PICK ONE. :)
@@Daksina I've just realised that the site you mentioned for printables is outside of the UK .. have you experienced additional fees for credit card payments etc?
@@rayq352 I usually pay via paypal and don't remember incurring any fees but it has been a while since I have purchased from there. You can try www.etsy.com/shop/printablekate and use DAKSINA20 if you prefer not to buy from a US shop.
I believe Erin Condron is a little bit more square (very similar width, just 1/2 inch shorter) than happy planner. Kikki K (Filofax style) rings are my favourite with DIYfish.
Hi, I have never had PW so I'm not sure to be honest. But these are the sizes: PW Rings: 4.75" x 6.75" B6 TN: 4.9" x 6.9" So it looks like PW is slightly smaller. But depending on the planner itself, it could work...
Thank you so much for uploading this & explaining it so well! I thought that I needed to calculate both the width & the length, but apparently not? 😅 Is it better to calculate the width or the length, or it doesn’t matter? One thing I’ve noticed is that when I want to resize from A6 to pocket size & the insert has a grid, the grid gets smaller too & that’s understandable, but yeah, I guess there isn’t any way to get around that if I’m not purchasing the insert in pocket size?
It doesn't matter, you can calculate either and you will get the same calculation. Unfortunately, there is no way to stop the grid size being reduced (that I am aware of).
I’m in the U.K. so we have A4 paper not letter size. But the formula works for any size paper, just adjust to the letter measurements. Hope that helps!
I just choose the paper size that I want before printing from the properties drop down. The PC does the calculation and I print on the paper size I have chosen. 🙂
Let me know if this was helpful and if you have any questions!

Thank you for sharing this ❤️ quick question. I have just purchased a personal wide rings would b6 tn inserts work in my PW ? X

B6 TN: 4.9" x 6.9"

Bonjour Daksina
quel est le logiciel que vous utilisez et comment faire s’il vous plaît ?
Merci
Sorry, I don’t speak French!
When printing are u starting out with a regular letter size sheet of paper?
I’m in the U.K. so we have A4 paper not letter size. But the formula works for any size paper, just adjust to the letter measurements. Hope that helps!
Thank you. What app are you opening the printable in?
Onajourney Life Adobe Reader😊
Wait, just to make sure I am understanding it is same formula for sizing up or down I don't have to reverse when going up in size?
Exact same formula works both ways!
I just choose the paper size that I want before printing from the properties drop down. The PC does the calculation and I print on the paper size I have chosen. 🙂
Lynne Willis That’s great!
So if I am printing an A6 size from B6 I’d print at approx 81%? Is this accurate?
Correct! A little smaller if you plan on sticking it into a notebook and prefer the edges not to touch the notebook edges.
