With the exception of cutting the upper leather shapes, you, in essence, built a new pair of shoes. Simply amazing. It is so interesting to see how different manufacturers make shoes and the very clever way you make them better than new. These videos are so wonderful to watch. Thank you Steve. I almost wish I had a great pair of shoes that I needed fixed.

That shoe is a great style I can see why it is rare. You are almost remaking the entire shoe, better than if they were brand new. You got the numbers -- looks fantastic. Steve there is so much intricate work on that particular pair of shoes, the owner should be in shoe heaven. What you do is way more difficult than making a new shoe. Those are some pretty stitches, good job again. This was clearly A+

Favourite video Steve by far. Really interesting to see to see the different construction to a typical Goodyear welt. End result was indeed fantastic. Congratulations. I'd love to see you create a video that takes us through the final finishing stages. I do sometimes get frustrated that we get near the finish and then the next thing we see is the finished product. Anyway...take that as you will. I love your videos anyway. I have a couple of pairs of Florsheim Imperials that might find their way to you one day from here in Australia if I get to the point where they need a resole. Thanks for taking the time to make your videos.

I had to break off watching half way through. I was so annoyed. I have just finished it now. It's 11.12 pm here in the UK.... When you bent down to look into the Camera and smiled. I smiled right back at you and giggled when you said not enough hammering. It was just so funny, like you were just accross the room instead of accross the ocean. The shoes came out beautifully. I never doubted your ability to make them look like new.

You're so cute doing what you love to do. I discovered that on my mom's side of the family my great, great grandfather and his brother were cobblers in VA. When my ancestor was in the Civil War he traveled with the troops as both a soldier and a cobbler, he survived the war, returned home and resumed his life as a rural cobbler and farmer. When I was married I discovered my husband's great grandfather and his brother had been also both been cobblers in rural Maryland and also participed in the Civil War, at that time the old family home and outbuildings were still standing, having been inherited by a male relative that never married. Several buildings were being used to store hay and one housed chickens. Much of the old equipment used by the cobblers was still in one of the old buildings, even some ancient shoes. I was 19 at the time and not all that interested in my husband's family history and unaware of my own family history involving cobblers. I wish now that we'd tried to salvage some of the items. My son is not a cobbler despite having cobbler ancestors from my his father's family. I really enjoy watching your videos because they give me some insight into some of what my ancestors may have done although I imagine their work was much more primative and basic. I'd imagine back then a cobbler was very necessary and probably busy serving the community.
