The thing that annoys me the most is the fact they finally changed Steve’s skin color to be more accurate and the ONE time they do it they give him a new face.
I could see why the brick built mobs wouldn't be considered minifigures. But as far as I can tell, a lot of people consider them to be minifigs. The main draw of the deep dark to a lot of people is going to be the warden. The main draw to the most recent nether portal isn't the fact we get another nether portal, but instead, it's the fact we get a new ghast and a new hoglin design. I know I dont buy the minecraft sets for the character minifigures as most of them dont even have real names. I usually buy the sets for the brick built mobs that are harder to get.
People consider them as characters, absolutely, and people will be enthusiastic about getting them, as part of the build. If a set is not priced in a way that justifies less pieces, functionality, or set size for what you get, more minifigs and even reused ones will definitely help alleviate any lack of value. I appreciate that’s not as much an issue with Minecraft’s smaller sets for the most part, but the larger sets really don’t deliver on that consistently enough, imo
Nothing to say about the prices going up, yeah they have been, and yeah the large mob build sets have been something I've avoided due to price being at a premium, but I 100% have always viewed the brick-built mobs as minifigures, mainly due to the fact that they have custom molds or prints on them to make the mobs happen. The sole exception to this might be the boss mobs which are just large enough to eat really heavily into the piece count as mentioned.
The part counts have followed the price increases to make things worth their while I’d say. Especially as it seems there’s been a lot more prints as of recent, compared to before, too. It’s just not the usual prices we had become used to all the same, which is never a fun change
I always liked the affordability of minecraft sets, where for €20 yould get a set which feels like a €30 set. Now with the wolf house am i getting dissapointed, its no €30 set, it feels so small
as someone who just sold all of my lego star wars sets and is now collecting minecraft sets, the deals you get are impecable. whether new or old, most of the cheaper sets are worth their money. something lego star wars cannot say. they are a few sets that minecraft has that are a little expensive but it is few and far between. it is unfortunate to see the theme approaching star wars level prices though.
I’m ok with them counting brick built characters as minifigs but I don’t like it when the amount of characters it disproportionate to the price like the ender dragon and end ship
This might be a bit of a stretch but I think more crossovers in lego Minecraft would be cool. There was a set with a Minecraft ninjago kai a few years back.
It was really cool. That was before it seemed LEGO Minecraft really found its footing, and it’s been strong ever since, so I’m honestly not sure if it needs it
Personally I think this would be a great idea for the theme to continue on, like giving us some of the other Ninja and maybe try a licensed theme like a Minecraft Darth Vader or other licensed characters
@@Blue-Ninja2000 There actually was a ninja themed set released two years ago. Pretty cool build but I wish we got more sets, especially with the cherry blossom biome being a thing now
Another mob we are lacking a return is the Parrot. Which is odd, due to the fact they have many variants just like the sheep and cats but we haven’t seen or gotten them again. No worries though, but great video as always Pen!
Personally, I only need two minifigs because all I care about is basically making my own story. Also as a Lego and Minecraft fan you know I’m sort of in between.
I really don't have a choice but to only collect minigifigs at this point because none of the sets ever even have bricks or anything that I can build anything with. I wish the lego classic line was just bricks in a few basic colors instead of what they actually did
I really like your take on the minifigure problem has these days, I've also watched your ninjago+monkie kid minifigure problem video and agree that in some lego themes, minifigures are being used as the main draw of a set. That said, there are a decent number of the buildable minecraft mobs that register in my head as minifigures rather than being part of the build, including sheep, pigs, cows and horses. I think its interesting seeing how people react to animal figures being considered/not considered as minifigures and the main theme that comes to mind with this has to be Lego elves from 2015ish. Really cool video, definitely going to catch up on the rest of the series!
have you considered the fact they go by character not figure, they even counted the ender dragon as a figure in the first end set. its very obvious mobs like the sheep count as a minifigure to lego.
As stated with my example of the Creeper and the Strider, there’s a difference between a character with wholly unique parts and something that is primarily a build. All the animal mobs and the Iron Golem (as examples) are primarily builds and would contribute to that factor of the set itself. And that’s ok, but when a set has them, and the price does not meet the value of what’s included, you’re gonna have people excited for mobs that fit the minifigure anatomy, than reusing an identical build for an animal on a previous set, especially if they’re the same color as before. This series is all about filling that need. I go into more detail about characters that are builds and characters that count as minifigs at the start of the video like this I did on LEGO Star Wars, if you want a more in-depth approach on my perspective of all this.
While that would be a lot of stuff LEGO would have to purchase the rights to separate from Minecraft alone, which might push them away, but I think it would be a cool idea anyways
Great points however i dont think they should do the new defaults. Ive seen no one use them at all. Most minecraft players just skip the defaults all togeather. and its not like they super advertize the new defaults. And the lego oc minecraft skins have a decent liklyhood of matching somones custom/skinpack astetic
The thing that annoys me the most is the fact they finally changed Steve’s skin color to be more accurate and the ONE time they do it they give him a new face.
I sympathize with that. It’s why I came to the conclusion about the multiple-heads-in-a-set thing. People are gonna want the default expressions
I really hope they give us an accurate standard steve face this upcoming year, literally all I want from lego mc
@rogueknight5989 bro I got good news for you. The new mooshroom house is gonna be lit.
They really ought to use the default skins more. All of them can be used repeatedly and therefore be used in more sets.
Exactly. I do feel they should focus getting the rest of the default skins in sets first though. Sunny and Efe are an excellent start.
Steve, Alex, and the other skins. That is all we need for skins
@@PenPlays I recently got the Sunny and Efe sets last week and I built them yesterday and I was so happy I could not get rid of the smile off my face
I really hope (and most likely) that more default skins will be in the next wave of Lego Minecraft sets.
GREAT PENPLAYS LEGO MINECRAFT MINIFIGURES PROBLEMATIC ISSUES.

Itd be neat if they did a minifigure factory but for minecraft minifigures. Itd be amazing to be able to make your skin as a lego minifigure
That would be so cool!

2:06 THATS ALEX?!? I thought that was a random dude!!
Do I have a minifigure problem?
We all have a minifig problem 😔
We need an Evoker and Vex BADLY

I’d go crazy for more micro world sets
At this point we all have a minified problem

Personally, I only need too many figs because you know I wanna feel like I’m playing the game while still building Legos. I love both of them.
I dread, yet eagerly anticipate the day you cover lego Jurassic World's minifigure problem. If that happens, of course.
The question is tho, should it really be about the minifigs, or should it be bait to talk about dinosaurs for 12 minutes…
Hmmm 🤔

Will there be a video for Animal Crossing?
Possibly. If so, I’ll probably wait until we see another wave release so we can see whether things are consistent.
Lego minecraft when they haveno mob idea:*10B creepers*
Creeper Battle Pack when?
I wish they made a technoblade and other youtuber minifigure
Be cool
While that would be a lot of stuff LEGO would have to purchase the rights to separate from Minecraft alone, which might push them away, but I think it would be a cool idea anyways
Technoblade, DanTDM, Stampy, and Villager #9 I guess
Please, if you make another video add and play features because those are another big part of the Minecraft sets
The player isn't technically a mob 🤓
Actually, from a game code perspective, it is. It's a "mobile entity" just like the others, just one manned by a person, not an ai.
