My wife just bought a 2022 Buick Encore and I am a bit concerned about the ecotec engine being problematic. It seems that the PVC and the turbo are weak points but with the PVC system update, catch can and servicing the oil supply line it looks like those issues can be dealt with easy enough. It seems that most cars today have something to worry about. We just let the old Subaru go with 222k that was leaking oil and coolant from the head gasket for like 10 years so we know how to baby a car. I am planning on changing the oil every 6 months which is like 3k miles as this is what we did to the Subaru and it lasted for a very long time with a major problem. Thanks for the video. Even though it looks like the ecotec has issue it looks easy enough to work on and the overall car seems simple enough. PEACE

I'm so glad to see you working with Andre. I used his fix kit and added a catch can just like you did in this video. I used to have it routed the second way you described. Just a warning to those in cold climate areas, if you don't empty it often it can freeze and clog the system. Wiped out the valve cover and turbo on my sonic. Next time I need a kit I'll definitely come to you Dave. By the way if my explanation of my self caused problem doesn't make sense feel free to remove my post as to not cause confusion for anyone. Nice work once again!

    Hi,
I have been using the v2 kit on my cruze and it's been good for over 4 years & when I swapped out my intercooler, there was about 1 tbl. Spoon of oil in side. Also, the radiator works well. I have been on the road for about 100 / 200 miles now & I think everyone will be happy with it. The intercooler kit keeps the charge cool as well more tq. At the wheel & less throttle to move the car as well even on a stock tune. Thank you

just did this and luckily I had already ordered a new PCV Hose for this car months earlier. Lucky I did because the valve in the bottom part.( near the turbo) eas completely gone. When you take that hose off if you can blow air from that bottom part then the valve is missing. On the new one when you look in that bottom part of that hose connector, you can clearly see the orange valve. You can actually suck through but you shouldn’t be able to blow through it.
I simply took the new PCV hose. I got and cut the ends of it off to use instead of the old one. Not expensive at all on eBay or wherever anyways, I think this is something important people should know. If you did it without replacing the bottom part of that hose then you are probably missing that valve also. Should be easily remedied and replaced.

Most newer GDI cars no longer have the traditional PCV valve but use an integrated Pressure Regulator Valve built into the rocker cover itself. I think they even route the oil back into the pan somehow? So I guess there would be zero need for a catch can or any other mods??

I'm curious if the stock intake manifold can be modified to have a true 65mm opening for the LNF TB? Rigit now the LNF offered by zzp has a reducer to 49mm which basically makes the LNF TB a worthless mod as it has very little to no performance gain on the stock intake manifold. Now racer x makes their manifold with an LNF 65mm adapter so there would be a true performance gain. But I'm more attracted to the idea of keeping most of the stock intake manifold functionality but just modifying the TB opening to 65mm. Thoughts?

@davesworld2132 sorry for my ignorance. Idk what you mean. I'm not running anything at the moment. I am just looking into possibly buying a kit in the near future. My car is throwing some codes. I took it to the nearest GM dealer, to see about getting it fixed because there's a recall on these engines, specifically for the turbo. Long story short, they refused to fix it, because my car no longer has a warranty. I thought warranty didn't matter with recalls? They did scan it. Said It needs a the upper O2 sensor replaced. The camshaft cover is leaking a little oil. It wants to hesitate from a stop when accelerating. I've had this car for 2 years. This year it is starting to act like its "flooded" whenever I fuel up. After I fill up, as soon as I try to start it, it will turn over for several cycles before firing off. After that, it's fine until I fill up again. Something to do with fuel/air ratio? Idk. I checked the diaphragm on the cam cover, and checked for the "orange nipple" (pcv valve?) in the intake manifold. It's still there. So idk what else it could be. I only know your basic knowledge, if even that much. What would you recommend me buy and/or test, etc,.. Thank you in advance.

@@l1nkofshadowz68 When you first comment that it sounded like you were trying to install some thing that’s why I ask. I have a specific kit that I make that fixes the PCV system and adds a canister to a specific location on the firewall next to the strut tower. That being said even though you see the orange nipple that does not mean that internal check valve is still there. It’s possible that Justice Center nipple is left and the the check valve is broken.
