There's no other cinematic event I'm looking forward to more than returning to Pandora to see how the rest of the Avatar story plays out. I'm confident that it's basically going to be like a multi-volume "James Cameron's Greatest Hits" album that draws inspiration from and pays tribute to all his previous films, and that is something worth waiting for. Thanks to all you folks maintaining awareness of the franchise as we await these sequels. 💙
A very good producer and someone who believed in the impossible. I can't believe it's no longer there. And obviously there are many questions. What will Cameron do without him? Will he do it alone? Now will the sequels get canceled with his passing? I don't know but using a piece of a song by Ligabue "and even the stars fall, some both outside and inside; for a wish you express, another hundred remain outside." I believe that Avatar will continue because it is also his dream and I don't know how but it will continue. But one cannot fail to deny the loss that has occurred. For all cinema. Goodbye Mr. Landau. You are now with Eywa. Or at least with all the greats of cinema.❤
I mean it's a tragic loss to see him die so soon and it's shocked me but I feel James Cameron was the heart/soul/brain of the films. Think he'll be fine.
Jon remains the nicest and most accommodating producer I have ever worked with♥ He continues to affect all who work with him in such a wholesome and positive way.
@@TheRealLazyEntrepreneur I work in the vfx industry. Got in via internship. Was kinda easy and I think its a great time right now to enter. So try to aggressively get an internship somewhere. You will quickly become part of the team that has to pull off something impossible.
I was a tender age of 9 when this amazing movie came out. Now I am 21 and without hesitation I can say that it is my favourite movie/world of all time despite the long wait
You are doing an unbelieveably amazing job and I would and will spend the rest of my life to hopefully end up working on one of the Movies in the future. The biggest dream of my life. I will get there one day!
I was like 5 when I watched this movie and ever since then I couldn't get enough of it . I really waited almost my entire life for this movie and I love it so much 💗
What I'm looking forward to most in the Avatar sequels is to find out more about Eywa and the religion of Pandora, and possibly even see kind of the Heaven of Pandora, if it exists
WHY have they never recorded an audio commentary for AVATAR? All the production crew, cast and obviously James Cameron are happy to discuss the film, so why not? It's the biggest film of all time..
I remember it was a big thing when the DVD/Blu-Ray came out. People complained because they didn't include any bonus features. They said it was so they could get it out quicker but it was just so they could double dip with it. And they did. They released a collector's edition like a year later with bonus features on it.
@@joevictor53 I waited to buy the Collector's Edition, even though I had know idea it was going to release, because there weren't any special features on the original DVD release. And I'm super glad I did! Because the 178 minute cut rocks, I can't go back to the theatrical version.
Best Picture....the world just wasn't ready for it yet. The academy didn't realize that the performances were captured in such a way that it fully represented the actors' work. Too many simply didn't understand the production and took the safe bet it was up against, a more traditional film.
I love Avatar, I thought Hurt Locker was a bad movie. If Avatar was to lose to a more "traditional" film I would have preferred it to be a movie I actually enjoy.
"I dont know, I have just been told to do so" is such a reflection on what destruction was done to the Omaticaya clan. How soldiers just blindly went in to bulldoze over innocent lives. Ring any in-real-life bells lads?
"They [China] look for the same things in their movies." As a leader of river pollution and deforestation and building massive dams and urban sprawl, I don't think China does look for the same things that Avatar promotes. I just don't. Now, Hollywood and China both like Communism, so I suppose China does look for the same thing in that respect.
@@AlicanErenKuzu Well, sure, human nature is a universal concept with humans of all nations. At the root of it all, humans of all stripes have greed, but they can also aspire to greater things.
@@Sir_Persevere Yeah it is also in our nature to blindly ripp resources where we can. I hope we will become better. I think films are there to make us deeply aware of how we need to change as a species. And there I think James Cameron does a very good job with Avatar
I'm a conservationist who agrees with not dumping chemicals into the water, cleaning up urban smog, and making sure we don't make animals and plants go extinct. The whole thing about man-made climate change causing winters to become warmer and man-made activity causing stuff like hurricanes, I seriously doubt. Man can't change the weather patterns, even with pollution. But the main issue that I take with pampered Hollywood activists is that they constantly scream about things that happened hundreds of years ago, the whole constant "white man bad," but then stay mum when other non-white groups (aka China) do the exact same thing in our modern time. Don't get me wrong, the European settling of the Americas is an issue worth debating as a thought piece over invasion, but humans have been invading each other for thousands of years. Where's the outrage over Rome conquering England? Or China eyeing Taiwan? Or the Moores taking parts of Spain? I am looking forward to Avatar 2 as a potentially good sci-fi thought piece which at face value does some good to help us be mindful of nature. But I reject the hypocritical activism that goes with it.
Oh, and China wants to colonize Taiwan. Eh, but what do I know? Sure, scream about British colonialism from hundreds of years ago, but stay mum about China's expansionism today. We understand hypocrisy, don't we?

Jon Landau, a frequent collaborator of James Cameron who produced movies including Titanic, Avatar, and Avatar: The Way of Water, dies at age 63.
He’s with eywa now.

What do you do?
Creatures & effects. Worked with Jon back in the 90s.

I can definitely perceive the love and pation of Jon Landau.
As an aspiring film director, I dream of my own Jon Landau one day.
Awesome Jon! Can't wait for the sequels, and moreso Alita's sequels! That movie is a classic!
I remember James said that he only focuses on Avatar sequels. Probably there won't be an Alita sequel.
