Invalides is a station on the lines 8 and 13.
The station opened on December 24, 1913.

Will be back in Paris in a couple of weeks. Can't wait to hear that sweet metro jingle in person and take unlimited metro rides.
So Varenne is actually closest to Les Invallides building. 😅 Peculiar is the history of the station. Platforms of line 13 are 2 half stations with central platforms as it used to be a terminus until 1976 before the tunnel under the Seine was constructed. It's also why one of the tracks is 'interdit aux voyageurs' as it's only for emergencies but gas platform screen doors 👍😉 Line 8 platforms are parallel to line 13. Line 8 also used to have demi stations with end tracks direction Varenne. Now disused except for a section to show off some Sprague-Thomson vintage metro's on special open-door days. It explains the large number of wide open and huge number of smaller mostly bricked-up corridors. And although it's a transfer station to RER (above ground?) it only has one access! 🤔😳😬

@@MetroCheck Yes it's used to store one of the old Sprague-Thomson trains. You can hire train and station for (business) events from the RATP. The train itself doesn't ride anymore which would have been cool 😉😁🤞
