One thing to note: most Indians will not understand concept of 'downtown'. In India, we just call it market area. Posh market area, regular market area :D
Just to add to your advice, in case you do fall ill in Mumbai, healthcare is easily accessible and of good quality. Just go to the ER at a good hospital and you will be attended to. You can also buy most medicine easily at the local chemist and you will not be required to show a prescription in most cases, though it would help to have one just to make sure that you are getting the correct meds.

I have been living in mumbai all my life and I completely agree with her! everything on point. I just have to mention that people in mumbai dont use cash much, we use UPI payments which are faster than cards or even cash. any traveller could get a sim card at airport and create a temporary upi acc which can literally be used anywhere in mumbai or India. plus data is literally very cheap in india so it helps to stay connected on the go.
My partner is Indian and we highly recommend a beautiful movie called All We Imagine As Light (2024)! It's based in Mumbai and captures that bustling energy you seem to enjoy! :) P.S. We love your videos!!
6:22 Rickshaws are allowed to run only in the suburbs (north Mumbai). Taxis/Uber/Ola cabs are allowed all over, both downtown (south) and in the suburbs (north).
I'm from Mumbai I have not travel in my own city But you guys and lots of people like you come to my country rome in the city giving your time to us loving what we have taken granted I really appreciate ☺️ your efforts ❤
Just be careful to not apply the Mumbai learnings to other parts of India. For example, no where else in India will the rickshaws go by the meter, you will have to fix the price with the rickshaw. Uber will work in most cities, make sure your payment method is set to online.
All Uber or Ola cars are with AC, with no extra cost. If you don't want it, you can just tell the driver to switch it off. I found that because of their small sizes, Uber Go are actually faster way to move around in a crowded city like Mumbai. For long distances like Mumbai-Pune, Premier cars are more comfortable. As far as local trains are concerned, you can travel by 1st class. There is less crowd there. There is also an option of Metro on a few routes. Besides, on limited routes, there is an option of AC BEST buses, which I found to be more comfortable than Uber (avoid peak office times though).
