W4YDL - 1st time QRP CW POTA - Ranger almost runs my radials over!

Testing out my new Xiegu X6100 with a 5 watt QRP CW activation at Hammocks Beach State Park in Swansboro, NC. 40 mins into the activation, a park ranger and a maintenance man came rolling up on a gator and almost ran over my radials! No harm, no foul...got to educate some more people on POTA!
Ended up with 21 contacts, with one all the way over in England! Thinking I'm going to like this radio, as long as the battery life improves!!

Thanks! I was using a Wolf River Coil with a 17ft Chameleon whip on top. That setup really gets out there!!

I actually set that up, but the buttons are so small, and I forget to use it 😂

You sure will! I've been doing morse code for a little over a year now, and it finally feels like I'm "getting it" without trying to think about every letter. Keep at it!
