I suspect the trigger lock was the result of not fully depressing the grip safety. Two failures to go into battery might be almost anything. Shoot it some more. I own one, works good for me.

I think you might right about not having grip safety fully depress. I caught myself doing it several times. I notice it more after 30 rds. Maybe my hands were getting fatigue.

Those of you having jams. Always with every auto. First thing before firing it. Field strip & lube the living shit out of it. The metal will soak a lot up. Autos typically need a break in period. With modern manufacturing & or high end expensive hand fitted. Not as much break in.
Some autos simply do not like some ammo. Also, can have a bad magazine.
Polishing the ramp, ensuring there are no burrs, to hangup feed or extraction. Is a good thing to look for. Extractor can be problematic. Change extractor or install a better aftermarket. Spring weight for the type of rounds you are shooting can make a difference.
The stock spring for the .45 BBR is good for only 500 rounds. Reason why they provide a spare with the sale. Have no idea if the 9mm is the same.
Purchase the afternarket flat spring & rod. Good for 10,000+ rounds.
You want put 200-500 rounds through it to get all the slide & frame contact points polished. After the intial 25-50-100-200 rounds. You should not be experiencing feed or extraction issues.
Keep it well oiled up during the break in period. Clean it regularly. Clean out the tiny metal shavings during break in. You want to ensure that the contact surfaces are polishing each other with no debri in there. Carbon build up will work like sandpaper. There again, keep it clean & well oiled during break in.

You don't know? I know what happened you didn't press the grip safety that's why it won't fire failure to feed because you press the slide lock

I have one and had to do several things to it to make it more reliable. I chenford the sides of the barrel and polish the feed ramp, then I replace the recoil spring with an egw 22-pound flat wire recoil spring. I decided to try a titanium firing pin which seems to work pretty well. I was not crazy with the sights so I had to make my own Novak plate adapter for my red and I purchased a blank front sight that is suppressor height at .300. I am also using the Para-Ordnance 13 round magazines with Wolff Springs and ordered mag spacers for them. I have no problem shooting any grain hollow point and ball ammo but stay away from any small primer ammo. As far as the grip safety I noticed that if you ride the thumb safety then you form a gap between your palm and grip safety which then causes the trigger not to work so I filed down the grip panel right under the thumb safety to put my thumb there and it works great.

I had FTF about 4 out of 20 rounds. I sent it back and they polished the feed ramp, tuned pistol and returned (6 weeks turn around) all postage paid by them. Not one FTF in 200+ rounds now. It will put 27 in just over a 2" group at 10 yds. I wish they had pinky extension on their mags! As you, a friend don't like the chunky grip either.

If you need more grip you can get their standard 14round mags for their regular full size/commander 1911 DS. (17 rounds on the 9mm) I would imagine it would be about an inch longer approx? Possibly add one of those S&W style sleeves to it, like Pierce Grip mag extensions or Para used to have pinky extensions too.

@@TheProcustoms Pearce Grip PGP10E Grip is what I used, they have one with a Glock like texture also. Mine don’t completely lock in , the slide off fwd with pressure but stay when in. Holster and don’t move when you draw and shoot as you are putting pressure to the rear of the mag. I also did a mod for the hogue wrap around grip but went back to the factory grips. Pinky extension makes a world of difference. RIA should partner with Pierce for a RIA 3.10 version , could come from the factory ! Good luck; I only shoot 230 gr ball ammo, never jams, 100% reliable. ( won 2 world wars with that ammo) in a court, it’s a target load!

I picked mine up last week and the only failure was on a Semi Wad cutter reload that failed to feed, maybe it does not like the bullet. I like it fine, wish they would have 2 mags with it. I ordered it from Rural King.

So I just got mine in the 9mm caliber. Reason I got it was because I had this crazy idea of fitting a "Taylor Freelance" extended base plate which added four rounds and it fits perfectly with the 10 or should I say 13 rounds for the 9mm. I was able to put in a total of 17 rounds of 9mm and it cycles really well. I am going to the range tomorrow to test it out and will let you guys know since the TF base plate did not only add capacity but, it also added more than enough space to hold on to it and grip it properly. Stay tuned 😀

Grip safety not fully compressed is why it failed to fire I would bet anything. Many pros pin the grip safety on 2,3,4,000 guns just for this reason. Also the grips are super thin not Thick. Take one off and you will see. Its fully routed out on the underside. The back part of the grip curves around the square shoulder of the magwell/grip of the steel frame. They are really thin U will see.

Be careful of small gun in a 45 coz it will give a hard punch when you shot.
