Indie bands from this era had the music video down to an art. I remember seeing this, pj Harvey's "good fortune" and white stripes "hardest button to button" all on MTV2. Way back when indie music was still authentic and the video actually complemented the song (so much cooler than the corny Hollywood style videos of the nineties) It was like a microcosm of indie culture that only lasted a few years.

One half of Queens Of noise, Mairead Nash the other half whos wearing the police hat and later went onto a music carrear discovering and managing Florence Welch/Machine. Both hung out in the east/north london hipster party scene of the time and hence friends of the band. Mairead was the muse and inspiration for Razorlights/Jonny Borrells Golden Touch.

You a way to mean no

And they chased me up three flights of stairs
Caught me in the lift how I sighed and said
    Help 'cause you're impossible
But it's just like he's in another world
Doesn't see the danger on show
He'll wind up like Joseph bloody in a hole
And it's just like she's in another world

    Grito

Great band. Reading Pete’s book at the moment- very good. His prison stories are pretty horrific and quite funny at the same time.

Saw when they supported Supergrass, and no one knew who they were, not even the staff working there.
This was no doubt the best as they were trying to leave their mark.
Hands down one of the best live acts I've seen, amongst several others.
