You could also mention karambwan: I just got 97 fishing and tested them for like 15-20 mins and averaged 39k xp/hr and 300k gp/hr. That's while focusing of course, but it's afk because the fishing spots never move. Bis is a quest cape for fiary ring access and crafting cape for banking, so it's probably best as a mid/late game afk method. Plus, karambwans are the fastest non tick method for getting heron!
i remember trying to find methods when going for 99 fishing on the main. I ended up doing monks for about a month and some days straight while at work. It was AWFUL exp, but I came out with a fat stack of cash, lots of food for slayer and 2 herons.
The best is karambwans with an open fish barrel. Here’s the method: Inventory: karambwan vessel, stack of raw karambwanji, open fish barrel/open fish sack barrel Equipped Gear: full angler/spirit angler (optional), dragon/crystal harpoon (for fishing level boost, optional), amulet of (eternal) glory, quest point cape 1. Use quest cape teleport to legends guild 2. Fairy ring to DKP 3. Fish at spot. This will be guaranteed afk for 3-4 minutes, and the fishing spot never moves. You will catch 28+25=53 karambwans in the process, excluding any clue bottles that might take an inventory space. Make sure your fish barrel is open. 4. Use Edgeville teleport on glory amulet. The eternal version is absolutely worth it if you have the money (you can always sell it back) 5. Shift click -> empty your fish sack/barrel, deposit all karambwan (set default bank deposit as deposit-all) I also added a hot key to my mouse mapped to the escape button which makes exiting the bank easier Repeat. Probably 40-45k xp/hr as well, so not bad at all.
Karamja gloves 3/4 are a really good tele instead of the glory if you have the reqs. They put you right next to a deposit chest, and they are free with no charges to worry about. I'm going to have to try legends cape if I go back to karams though. I was using house tele's since I have a fair ring there, and I'm curious if the extra couple steps needed for legends guild ring balances out by having an extra karam per trip.
@@Inscipio I don’t use Karamja gloves because the clap animation on the teleport adds a few ticks that the glory animation doesn’t have, so I suspect a glory is faster. And again I use the eternal version so charges don’t matter. I also use the quest cape teleport instead of house teleports because 1. Having one more space for fish adds even more afk time, which is the entire purpose of the method and 2. Even with an optimal house, the 2 tick loading time adds the equivalent distance of 3 or 4 tiles.
@@trvekvlt7196 didn’t think about the clap time, that’s a good point. I think if someone is using normal glory though, the bank and equip time would add ticks for people wanting to be efficient, and it would add effort for people who want to make it more afk. Eternal is definitely faster though because there’s no animation. I may have to use my quest cape to tele. I use the pool in my house to regen spec/prayer since I pray preserve and spec when it’s up for maximum time with boosted stats. For more afk though, I may swap to quest cape tele for that extra inv space since I don’t spec as soon as it’s up every time
This is very close to what I did but to make it more chill I had crafting and construction capes in inventory and runelite configured so that they are left click teleports. Mouse mapped so that there's escape, shift and mapped into the extra buttons. Got myself over 100k Karambs this way and zero burnout. This was truly the lazy method.

Am I missing something or does this video not mention karambwans? With a fishing barrel, you get a guaranteed 3-4mins afk for 40k xp/hr (not including the time to fish bait)
was wondering if you had any thoughts on sacred eels or infernal eels vs anglers? I've been afking anglers as passive income on my way to 99 and was wondering what the best afk fishing method would be while still bringing in some cash
Yep you can bypass the quest and make those separately, although if you have the high fishing requirement and fire cape you've probably done it already
The clear winner is drift net fishing. I’m at 68 fishing and 70 hunter and I get 65k fishing plus 90k hunter xp. I am never doing any other method until at least 90. Not to mention that drift net fishing scales with your level so by 90 I should be getting closer to 200k combined xp
a graphic at the end comparing the methods gp/xp hr would have been nice but great vid!
You're right! Wish I had thought of that
Four people 3-ticking barb fishing sweating so hard they misclicked the like button.
I don't know if this aged well or not :(
The way your commentary flows is really pleasing. Good job on the videos :)

Love that you listed dark crabs twice lol. Favoritism?

Thank you! Love the fishing content. Always looking for best afk for work!
I'm in the same boat hahaha

I think this video came out before temp.
Absolutely love your videos. Keep it up man.
But what about karambwans?
Thanks, just in time for my fishing grind
love the vids keep 'em up! I think i know your dark crab method, waiting for the next vid!
heck yeah guna do some infernal eels, never heard that mentoned in a guide thanks man!
If you want pure AFK XP on mobile, power fishing karambwans is pretty good for post-99 XP. No profit or loss, just XP.
Ty for the vid, wasnt sure which spot to afk at with spirit flakes. wish you would've covered Anglers too though
was wondering if you had any thoughts on sacred eels or infernal eels vs anglers? I've been afking anglers as passive income on my way to 99 and was wondering what the best afk fishing method would be while still bringing in some cash
what about karambwan the fishing spot never moves
Gnomonkey , I have a quick question, what do you spend your tokkuls on get the maximum profits? Or what do you spend it on
Onyx with karamja gloves is the most gp/tokkul
How do anglerfish compare?
Wiki shows at most 18k xp/hr and 200k gp/hr, pretty terrible
Gnomonkey RS ah cool, just got angler set for master and wondered if I should branch out my fishing. Thanks for the response!
Been wondering this myself for a while
You can wear ice gloves without doing the heroes quest
Nope!
@@GnomonkeyRS hm maybe it changed then, I remember using the gloves for blast furnace 2 years ago, before completing the quest.
Sorry I didn't reread your questions phrasing and just gave the answer, you don't need to have completed or even started the quest
@@GnomonkeyRS Cool thanks you, nice video!
Im a sacred eel purist; more xp than infernals (not fishing but overall)
0:12 Xia? What blessing is this??
Monkfish? Swordfish?
Wish there were some lower level examples. Even at low levels it's a slog.
Oily fishing rod and ice gloves actually do not need Heroes' Quest started to obtain them afaik
Yep you can bypass the quest and make those separately, although if you have the high fishing requirement and fire cape you've probably done it already
But monk fish give you better afk xp right?
More xp less afk less gp
More. More. More!
Forgot angler fish
nisu
What about karambwans, dummy.
More afk, more money and more xp than monks
....
Karambwans are garbage
@@neistack upto 40k xp per hour and 400kgp per hour whilst being one of the most afk methods in the game...
Why "dummy" tho
Its straight just disrespect

Drift netting is good but not afk at all
