  • In this video, we're starting our 3-day Kuching food journey strong by taking on a street food challenge - eating 25 bowls of incredibly delicious Kolo mee at the renowned Kungfu Noodles.
Seriously, these noodles are NO JOKE. From the plain white ones to the spicy red ones, each slurp was a flavor explosion. Nothing dry here, just perfectly saucy and begging to be inhaled.

My family recently immigrated from Korea to Kuching. Kolo mee is my second favorite Kuching food after Laksa. I can't believe you ate 25 bowls of this... I'm envious and think it's amazing! There are so many great things about living in Kuching. Friendly people, clean city, safe streets even late at night, and a variety of food... I felt so peaceful after leaving the complicated Seoul to live in Kuching. I love Kuching~!

Welcome to my hometown!! So unfortunate that I just left and now back in Singapore. I would've loved to bring you around! I hope you enjoy your stay in Kuching! The Kolo mee you had looks awesome - I've always preferred the red version. More flavoursome and the best in my opinion! It's amazing that you could eat so much kolo mee in one sitting - most people would've felt so jelak after the 2nd bowl because of the insane amount of oil in the noodles (that's what made it so wet and moist)!

    • @ZermattNeo

Thanks for coming down to Kuching. Kungfu Noodle is up there at the top but there are so many other stalls that sell Kolok Mee with different taste profiles.
The Kuehchaps here is almost similar to the ones I had somewhere at Ang Mo Kio shops there, but as a professional eater, I think you can pick up the differences easily.
Go to Chong Choon for their Laksa Sarawak (if you can get a seat). That said, I do not see you as a spicy-lover, so i doubt you could get 25 bowls of it in a sitting (a challenge, perhaps?)
If you’re still here, enjoy our small city. I think there are many here that would love bringing you around, me included . We don’t have much, but we have everything anyone would want. If you’ve gone back, then I sincerely hope that you’ll come back again to enjoy the different foods we have here.
Ps: SG’s Wantan Mee was my cure for Kolok Mee craving when I was in SG. It scratched the itch many a times.

Sarawakian food isn’t spicy. This suits pre-spice lord Zermatt better haha
Next time you can fly to Sibu (30 mins away) and try their Hoong An. It’s prawn mee unlike anything you’ve tried before.
