- In this video, we're starting our 3-day Kuching food journey strong by taking on a street food challenge - eating 25 bowls of incredibly delicious Kolo mee at the renowned Kungfu Noodles.
Seriously, these noodles are NO JOKE. From the plain white ones to the spicy red ones, each slurp was a flavor explosion. Nothing dry here, just perfectly saucy and begging to be inhaled.

My family recently immigrated from Korea to Kuching. Kolo mee is my second favorite Kuching food after Laksa. I can't believe you ate 25 bowls of this... I'm envious and think it's amazing! There are so many great things about living in Kuching. Friendly people, clean city, safe streets even late at night, and a variety of food... I felt so peaceful after leaving the complicated Seoul to live in Kuching. I love Kuching~!
That's awesome!
As a Sarawakian, idk but I feel so proud that Singapore's biggest eater came down to my hometown to smash my fav food of all time haha!
Hahaha thanks brother!
Just eat in Singapore .Bet u never try eating 4 whole Peking duck.
Hey, fellow Sarawakian.
This man is a legend . Guys give him a trophy. .
Thank you sister!
Welcome to my hometown!! So unfortunate that I just left and now back in Singapore. I would've loved to bring you around! I hope you enjoy your stay in Kuching! The Kolo mee you had looks awesome - I've always preferred the red version. More flavoursome and the best in my opinion! It's amazing that you could eat so much kolo mee in one sitting - most people would've felt so jelak after the 2nd bowl because of the insane amount of oil in the noodles (that's what made it so wet and moist)!
Yes the scallion oil! That's the thing that's missing from the Singapore version. It's okay next time k
Welcome to Kuching Sarawak Zermatt! I have been following and watching you for awhile now and i am a big fan.So glad that you like our kolok mee. Too bad I am not in Kuching right now, if not it would have been great to catch up! Have a awesome time there!
Thank you so much!! For sure
Always love seeing Megan. She adds such good vibes to these vids. ❤
We agree!
YESSS!!!! I agree with you!
hehe always love bringing some good vibes to the channel!! thank you for watching 🥰
Zermatt's subscribers are here to watch him not her
@@jong2102 That's fair I did say 'add' haha. I'll be watching her vid too. I'm here for good content and they're both good creators :)
You make me drool, so happy to have found your channel and to follow along on your journey!
Yay! Thank you!
Thanks for coming down to Kuching. Kungfu Noodle is up there at the top but there are so many other stalls that sell Kolok Mee with different taste profiles.
The Kuehchaps here is almost similar to the ones I had somewhere at Ang Mo Kio shops there, but as a professional eater, I think you can pick up the differences easily.
Go to Chong Choon for their Laksa Sarawak (if you can get a seat). That said, I do not see you as a spicy-lover, so i doubt you could get 25 bowls of it in a sitting (a challenge, perhaps?)
If you’re still here, enjoy our small city. I think there are many here that would love bringing you around, me included . We don’t have much, but we have everything anyone would want. If you’ve gone back, then I sincerely hope that you’ll come back again to enjoy the different foods we have here.
Ps: SG’s Wantan Mee was my cure for Kolok Mee craving when I was in SG. It scratched the itch many a times.
Zermatt can take the spicy heat coz he is now the Spice Lord. 🤣The only issue is if his stomach can handle the amount of coconut milk in the gravy if he wallops 25 bowls of laksa....😅
@@DS-ew3cf ahhh. SpiceKing? Is he one now? Awesome! I guess you’re right. You can only stomach so much of coconut-milk-and-spices-infused-gravy
Sure thing brother! Just my trip damn short maybe not even to cover - I'll gladly come back again soon
so awesome bro! My dad is from sarawak and kolo mee was definitely a great childhood memory!
Awesome!
I've lived in Kuching for 35 years and never been to Kungfu Noodles.
I'm actually really surprised you came to Kuching... Kuching is small but didn't bump into you... not so small after all... Hope you had fun and do come again.
PS: You know it's good stuff when you're still saying "this is good" at your 8th bowl 🤣🤣🤣
Give it a shot! I kinda like the black vinegar that they added haha. See you soon brother!
Hi Zernett, welcome to Kuching Sarawak. Hope u enjoyed Kuching in your food hunt journey

@@ZermattNeo ruclips.net/video/TNr0l9siTd8/видео.htmlsi=FWyAbkPReFsXX85Q
@@ZermattNeo Yes! We simply call it "tomato kway teow"! It's kway teo stir fried in tomato gravy. You can only find it in Sarawak! 😉

Thanks brother!
@@ZermattNeo you're welcome.
Back in australia melbourne, used to study at rmit.. there is a shop at the back sells 6 dollar kolo mee special (student price) which was very filling.. reminds me of the good o' days..
6 dollars Kolo mee is ex leh lol
@@ZermattNeo i just checked today price.. 18 bucks now..
@@otterly23 I've been living in Kuching all my life. Never heard of 6 Dollars for a kolo mee. Maybe in Ringgit Malaysia (RM6), sure. The average price for a Kolo mee in Dollars is roughly around 1-2 Dollars (Normal). The most expensive i have tried is around 3 Dollars (Special)
@@ZermattNeo Maybe he's mistaken for Ringgit Malaysia and Dollars 😂
@@FP606 back in Australia if u read the whole chunk..
I just miss kolo mee from Sarawak. My ex colleague used to tabao the noodles (red one) whenever he return to hometown. Many years back it's like SG $1 per small pack. No ingredients and cold but its good. Texture of the noodles was very nice...just love it. Gonna visit this store if i shld go Sarawak for holiday. Thanks for the recommendation:)
You're welcome heh!
NICE……… WELCOME TO KUCHING, THE CAPITAL STATE OF SARAWAK. I never knew that you are coming. If not, I want an foodie autograph from you bro.
Next time! I love Kuching ❤️❤️
Awesome effort. Nicely done Alex. It looks so damn good. I definitely now want to go back to the Chinatown wanton noodles again lol
HAHA let's go. I wanna do giant bowl
Sounds awesome. I hope the aunty finds a successor too.
This is certainly an interesting twist of the kolo mee recipe. I like it sometimes when the chefs add their own signature to the dishes to make it their own. Nice. 25... That's insane. I'd be delirious at like... 12? Great job bro! XD
Thanks buddy!
Aiyah... i missed the chance to meet you both. Didn't know you guys came to my town until i saw this vlog 😅😅😅
Next time!
Salute bro,,ur the first person in the world eat mee kampua sarawak more than ten bowl...now i will follow ur channel..mee kampua is the best mee in sarawak..❤❤❤❤❤❤

Welcome to sarawak, enjoy your KOLO MEE in sarawak, have a nice day.
Thank you! Will do!
25 bowls ! Lihai lah lu 👍 ("You are Very Good" in true sarawakian hokkien)
My weekend breakfast menu..lol.. I prefer the red one ..but the white one depends on which stalls that make the best version..only 3 stalls can ease and satisfy my tongue lol.. tabuan, 7th mile and the 10th mile.. sorry can’t remember what those 3 stalls/ coffee shop 🤣but still not all kolo mee taste the same and yummy ..only the real local knows the best..hopefully someone can guide you if you do come again ..stay safe and healthy..cheers
Welcome to Sarawak mates. Don't missed out Kuching Laksa and Bintawa Kueh chap..

Omg that's crazy. 😂 Hats off to you! I'm from Kuching but even I'm not THAT crazy about kolo mee. I prefer Sarawak laksa anyway.

Great vlog. Agree, mee kia is so much better. It’s so amazing that anyone can eat all those bowls of kolo mee. I love kolo mee but can only eat three bowls max in one sitting. Well done.

Welcome to Kuching...I'm from Kuching 😊
Hello!
Kolo Mee should be eaten while it is still hot or warm. I noticed this kolo mee is hand-pulled noodle which is more chewy, fresh and delicious. Usually served with a bowl of warm soup or wantan soup.
12:08 oh my gosh, i saw 3 flies is on top of the right hand side of the noodle...🥶
Hahaha bo bian
@@ZermattNeo 😅
U should add on bit cili + vineger mix with red kolo mee. Taste more nicer
Woah next time I try k
