- This is a duet from contemporary
Australian composer and guitarist Richard Charlton
, taken from his “Four Duos” for two guitars. The
tranquil “Drifting” features a lilting melody in the
second guitar while guitar 1’s texture is more sparse,
featuring extended techniques -- including percussion
with the right-hand nails on the side of the guitar,
ponticello chord arpeggiation, and harmonics.
This video is performed by Dave Belcher and Nicoletta Todesco and recorded at Yale University by Matthew LeFevre and Benjamin Schwartz.

Drifting, like clouds in the bright blue summer sky, the falling leaves of autumn, snowflakes on a winter’s eve and cherry blossoms on a spring breeze. This performance evokes many memories.
I am truly moved. ☺️
