I'm really hoping Nate brings his Double-R fest to COTA this year, the event is always top-tier. I really enjoyed the onboard footage, so rare to see VIR's full course on a bike!
Hearing him talk about spotting his points and where to apex lets you know how comfortable a pro is on a bike. As someone who has tracked cars and bikes, most car guys don't appreciate how much physicality is involved in riding. You can't just pick your spots and adjust your inputs. You have to move around, lean the bike over, etc. It takes a ton of courage just to start approaching the limits. Anyone can get into a sports car and start pushing pretty quickly. Meanwhile, I've probably done 5-6 days at CotA (including one of Nate's RR days) and have yet to put my knee down.
This is one of best motorcycle educational THINGS I've seen 8n 50yrs!!! Narration with video, so many myths clarified, utterly comparative with cars, grounding with a veteran voice, intellignt host . . . just a fantastic video. KUDOS!!!
Though I still loves cars, my interest in bikes grew so much because they are a cheaper way to have fun compared to today's cars that are getting boring and pricier
Bikes are everything we say we want cars to be. Affordable, fast, raw, engaging, super dependent on driver skills. It's weird to me that more car enthusiasts don't ride.
@@future62This exactly. You can’t just buy a fast bike and be fast. Being good on a bike requires a level of personal commitment that only a true enthusiast can bring to the table. And in return they offer a level of feedback and involvement and excitement that is truly unmatched.
Super stand up guy! Car and Drive opened a lovely precedent with that edition of lightning lap! Talking about bikes, It would be awesome to see next time the Hyper Naked bikes like the Ducati Streetfighter V4S and/or the new KTM 1390 Super Duke! I wonder if the Superbike BMW M 1000rr would be more at home in a circuit like the COTA GP and in a narrow and curvy with not too high top speeds like the VIR, the more agile Hyper Naked bikes could do better…🤔
I didn't know BMW made cars until I passed one. I'm sure the MRR is on many riders' dream list. I'd love to see BMW in MotoGP, not just World Superbike. Cheers, guys.
While MotoGP is good marketing it's also very expensive, there's a good reason why manufacturers have already pulled out in favour of WSBK. On top of that with WSBK potential customers can actually see the motorcycle they might want to buy be pushed to its limits so it's a much more realistic marketing campaign in itself. Don't get me wrong MotoGP is great but overall it's a very big investment for very little gain
Nate's so well spoken and humble. Great to see riders out there like that. Strong work.

You also can't correct a bike nearly as fast as a car to get it online.

Bikes killed my love of cars. Everything that has got worse about driver's cars has remained great or even improved with bikes.

I like them both I have a Supra and a few bikes but you just can't match the performance to value ratio of a bike.

Yep! So so much fun for the price too!

To be fair, you're only allowed to buy one of their cars if you prove you're a terrible driver.
@@JonO387 The same can be said for Audi, the wannabee BMW.

This awesome!! Nate your that man!
I know nothing about bikes, but this was so fascinating! Wow!
I’ve owned a 2019 M5 and now have a 2022 X5MC. Can’t wait to start my bike hobby/collection! They’re way cheaper than performance cars. 😅
Thank you Sir for this.
I’m gonna see how fast I can do this lap on the Beemer in Ride 4.
Honest question: Has anyone ever seen Nate Kern and Michael Barnes in the same room??
That was cool!
Get Nate a Kawa H2R next year.
It's too heavy to be about to be able to compete. The '24 Fireblade would be a better bike to try to beat this time.
Edit: He got better later in the interview 👍
.
Awe, he was trying to sell the bike. Stop that crap and just have fun with this...
wow
Spin the tire in 6th pinned ? Sorry but I had an race prepped s1000rr and I don’t believe that.
Slicks I assume?
Did cycle bro spend more time in marketing than on track?? He’s selling HARD.
