One trick we used "BACK IN THE DAY" to set the Super Glue was Baking Soda. Just sprinkle the Baking Soda on the seam where you see the oozing glue, and it will set quicker and form a strong bond.
Love your Channel, Taryl! And....there's your dinner 🫵🏻

You can also get an activator, just remember to get the glue bottle away from it before you spray. You only make that mistake once when you have a solid bottle of ca glue.

We called them bance guns here in the uk and i believe they still use them , used on railway changing fish plates and chair fastenings, the sockets were held on with a pin and a rubber rings the pins use to bend, you could get a cradle that could be put on the rails to help in carry and take the weight removing fish bolts, but we just used them by hand and after a shift you knew you had been using them 👍👍

When i was a kid we used gas drills for drilling holes in maple trees for spouts to collect sap to make syrup. Much better than using a bit and brace. One guy I worked for used a regular corded drill with a genset in a trailer to tap trees. Dragging the cord around was a PITA.

33 years in the Laborers Union in Boston and I’d never seen one of these till I was hired by a company that did railroad work. Like you mentioned Taryl Most companies have switched over to Battery powered Dewalt and Milwaukee impact guns since they are so much easier/ convenient to use. The only problem the battery tools have a much greater tendency to get “lost” than the 40lb gas powered ones 😂

I used a gas powered impact for tightening anchor bolts that went around 300 ft in the ground then they had to be tightened to spec with a 5 ft long torque wrench named Bertha lol. Come to think of it they did switch to electric impacts half way through the job reason for being we had to stand them straight up on the bolts and people were getting gassed out in the dig out were the bolt were to be anchored.

You guys should get one of those Service body Pickups (with all the toolboxes and compartments on each side) so you can put all of the common spare parts and your tools in there and go to calls and be able to fix it up on site without needing to bring it back to the shop. You can pick them up (pickup geddit? hehe) cheap at auctions all the time, especially when local government gets rid of their current fleet to buy new ones, they like having shiny new stuff for some reason, I dunno that seems to be the case most times when the taxpayer is picking up the bill..

You may use baking soda to instantly cure any cyanoacrylate containing glued or spray instacure products from Bob Smith Industries that will force stupid glue to instantly cure when the spray contacts the glue. Can damage some plastics and painted surfaces so you have to be selective about where and when you apply it. The baking soda trick I learned from a buddy that was a flight mechanic in Afghanistan and he said that is how they did field repairs on helicopter rotors that had sustained minor damage from small stones and pebbles. It cures almost instantly, can be machined, drilled, tapped, sanded and painted. Works like magic.

We use the snap on 3/4 drivve for semi's. But yeah instead of a box truck with a compressor for on to go tire changes. It would be nice to have that. The snapon 3/4 pnuematic only weighs 28lbs. The Ingersoll Rand weighs 40lbs. I've snapped lugs on a peterbilt with that Ingersoll rand. I hate both of them. I'm sure the battree powered ones were welcomed by the railroad workers haha. - Detroit

Taryl, first of all, I really enjoy your videos and have learned a lot from them! But I have a problem that I’m not sure how to fix! I have a friend that has a John Deere JS45 walk behind self propelled mower. It has a Breaks and Scrapem’ model 12S502 0114 B1 engine. The engine has a primer bulb, no choke, that is located on an extended part on the lower part of the air filter housing. I can prime the carb by pouring gas directly into the carb and it will start and keep running. Oh, I also put a new carb on it because the old one was full of water and corroded like you wouldn’t believe, Anyway, if I let the mower set until later or the next day, I try to prime it with the bulb and it will not fire off. Carburetor is exactly the same as the original one. Can you help me out with any suggestions to get it to prime with the bulb?
    Thank you sir in advance!
