you are one of the coolest people i have ever seen. alone in nature at the age of 17! congrats becky!
Becky, You should ask Dean if he can get his hands on a 1/2 inch drill bit for doing that with. Much less work involved and you will still get a good drip. Awesome job carving that spout. You definitely picked the perfect time of year for tapping. A good way to test if the season is over is by simply tasting the newly acquired sap. It will lose it's sweet taste. The drippings will also look cloudy. I still can't get over the exquisite job you did carving those spouts. Talk about bush crafting at it's finest! Best of wishes to your mother. This was one excellent Solo experience. Never a dull moment. You are AWESOME! Thank you for sharing!
Casey1pj definitely my favorite RUclips family of Adventures right here! They never cease to amaze me💪👍
I am right with you Yankee. I am so glad to have seen these guys take RUclips by the tail and show it what communing with nature is all about. I still remember Becky's first tea party. I knew the minute I watched that video that she was going to surprise the world with her fearless determination to become one with nature. Every video I see just amazes me even more. I actually think that within a year or two, David Canterbury will be wanting to interview her. I am being 100 percent serious brother! It won't be long and I will be taunting him into checking out this awesome phenomenon that is rocking the world! You mark my words my friend. He won't be able to help himself. Becky is one in a billion!
Thank you so much Casey for both of your lovely comments, you have been a fan since i first started and have always supported me and inspired me to create more videos with your comments. Hope your well and thanks for sharing your knowledge.Take care
Your little one log stool hurts my
Bottom just watching you sit on it.
Clever though.
Very impressed with your camp. It looks so neat and tidy. Especially impressed the way you have used wood to construct benches, stools, tables, and tools. VERY WELL DONE.
Thank you very much
28:26 when I hear a young person notice the beauty of a sunset I just know its someone who appreciates the moment.
What an amazing young lady to have so many useful skills and enjoy nature.
Thank you very much :))
Loved that Becky!
So great that you show the importance of plugging up the birch tree afterwards! If only there were more outdoor educated folk like you maid! ❤️🐚
What a doll my seven year old daughter and I very much enjoyed your video.
Super Cool dat met dat berken sap ga ik van de Zomer ook proberen
I realize this is an older video but this comment may help those who discover this great content now. We use maple mostly for tapping in Canada, a bit of advice, the sap doesn't store well, so use it within a day. I found it starts to get cloudy and ferment or whatever if let to stand. Maybe birch lasts longer.
Really enjoying working my way throught these older vids.
wow, in southern Missouri we don't have a lot of birch trees, but if I ever find myself in a woods where there are some I am going to remember what you have just taught me. Thanks.
So you do your homework very good. It's so cool to see a young lady out in the woods and comfortable with it. Your Father and Mother must be so happy with you. My daughter claims a hotel without room service is hard core camping. from California, Charlie I will continue to follow your videos. Thanks
Thank you very much Charlie, yes my parents are really supportive :) thank you for watching and take care
I have seen some of your videos now, and think you do a good job. Your calm, natural and sensible way of beeing is much appreciated. Keep up the good job there girl!
Thank you very much, means a lot. Take care :)
I dont think Ive ever seen those kind of taps before was a learning experience for me.Great video Becky. keep em coming.
Yeah Ray mears does these sort of taps thank you very much
Just came across your channel and I must say it's nice to see a young girl out enjoying the woods. I really enjoy the light way you put knowledge across. Thank you and look forward to seeing more wonderful videos.
OK I've never seen this tree tapping process. Never even thought to associate it with bush-crafting but makes a loft of sense. Cool stuff.
Thank you :)
Awesome to see a beautiful lady in love with the outdoors and nature, which everyone youngsters should experience it. Please continue to be inspired by many young people. Thank you
Thank you so much :)
Another nice soli video! It's always nice to get away on your own from time to time and relax and reflect on how many blessings you have. Tapping the trees was a nice bit of information for a real survival need. Keep up the great work and look forward to your next video. Prayers for you mom and hope she feels better.
Thank you for your lovely comment, i agree with you! Take care now
+Girl Outdoors .. Thanks for my first tree tapping lesson. i seen older films where maples were being tapped. In my region of the southwest US we have no trees which to tap for desirable sap. Probably will never be able to put the lesson to use. Was still most interesting to watch and learn. Looking forward to clay oven cooking and the possible kayak trip. Thanks for sharing Becky. Hope Mama Bushwaker gets well soon.
Thank you very much Glennray, glad you liked the video. Hows that multi tool of yours getting on aha! Thanks again and take care
Me and the multi-tool get along great. Truly one of my most prized possessions. I'm slowly getting together some other tools and supplies and putting together an emergency preparedness kit. Thanks again Becky. It's an awesome tool. Atb
Just started watching your videos. Well done your mum and dad must be so proud off you and your sister. Great videos off Scotland too.keep them coming xx😘
great video again! thanks becky 👍🏻😃greetings from 🇩🇪
Thank you
I see your four legged companion was really supervising you. HA!!
cooooooool tapping of the birch sap.
I am really amazed at how far you have come in the last couple of years.
cannot wait for your next video.
Ahaa thank you very much glad you enjoy my videos :)
Thanks, youtuber, Becky for clear demonstration how we can collect Mother Nature blowsome at outdoorers when about this time of year. While we can situate camp site, Maybe one of camper go out set the chestnut tree contribute campers with sap which I believe organic energy drink. Before you do fill up that tap, I presumably thought about that. And nicely done filling up crevice to where it were. Yes, It’s spring time we often have hiking or camping at outdoor, it is very practical way to keep our body fluid; hydrate. Oh, by the way when your school starts, you look weary. I can see you grabbable waist and healthy dimples. Keep it up, Becky.
Thank you for your informative and lovely comment, much appreciated. Take care :)
Awesome vid Becky I didn't know that a birch trees had so many good things about it thank you for the knowledge am going to try to learn more about it keep up the great job
Thank you very much, yeah its great stuff!
My grandfather taught me birch tapping about fifty-five year ago. I recall he added a wee bit of sugar and yeast and made a rather potent birch wine.
Ooo lovely, sound nice! Great skill to learn :) take care
I'm really Impressed a young woman at your age is into nature and not the mall, life skills that matter, good parenting, keep it up!

Thank you so much!
Becks....so well thought out video. Your progress and knowledge has grown so much....keep up the awesome job.👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
Thank you very much, glad you liked the video
Very well done. Great job with tapping the birch trees, and the funnels that you made worked perfectly. I'm so glad that you were taught to put the plug in afterwards. There's so much disrespect for nature out there by people who just don't care, but you've been taught well. Thanks for taking us along with you. I hope your mom is feeling better.
Thank you very much, yeah i agree there is not much respect for nature, a few weeks ago i saw a huge beach tree and somebody had built a fire right next to it and burnt a huge hole inside. So horrible to see. Thanks again
There you go me little mate...a step further than me! Never tapped a birch before... loving the Ray Mears funnel too! Great video Becks
Thank you very much Steve, was my first time and found it great fun! Would defo try it, tastes alright as well. Take care mate

Thank you for your lovely comment, good to hear from you. Would love to do a meet and greet on your channel. Completely agree with you with nature making you healthier. Take care
i agree, cheers to the solo camping it takes me five minutes when i get to the woods and all life worries drain away instantly. then i get the fire going the food on the beer or bourbon sipping and love listening to nature. you have beautiful song birds their love listening to them sing on in the back ground. i do have to say their is time for good company nothing like a nice cuddle under the sky with your lady watching the stars slide across the universe
Thank you for a lovely comment, made me smile. Agree with you, take care
Love the video didn't no about the Burch tree that is so cool I've learnt so much from you and your dad thank you
Thank you very much, glad you have learned a few thing :)
Very good video! I always look forward to your new releases! I really like your lean-to shelter. It looks pretty cozy and secure. What I would give for a partner (girl) like you who enjoys the outdoor world. Keep up the good work! You have a thorough knowledge of the woods and bush-crafting!
Thank you very much, thats very kind. Glad you like the lean to.
That's amazing how much sap you got out of those two trees!😮 buster is such a funny dog too lol
I know was my first time tapping trees and was shocked to see how much came out. aha cheers
very nice video, it's a real treat tapping a few trees just for fun, and the reward is so worth it eh? Try cooking some down next time and see what kind of syrup you get. Our birch and maple trees are almost ready to tap, the days aren't quite warm enough to drive the sap up and down.... yet. We hope to tap about 10 or 15 trees for syrup this year. Since it takes about 40 litres to make one litre of syrup .. it takes a lot of wood and time to cook it down.... but yeah, soooo worth it. cheers Becky. Glenn & Maureen. PS. we hope your mom feels better real soon.
Hi Glenn and Maureen, your plans sounds great with tapping the trees, bet the syrup will tastes lovely. I had a right crack at tapping the birch trees here. Good luck and enjoy tapping the trees, thanks for watching guys :) take care
Nice overnighter. Great video. Unfortunately we don't have birch trees in Texas. At least I haven't run across any yet. Hope your mom is feeling better.
Thank you very much ah thats a shame sure Texas has a lot more positives though. Take care
Great video, Becky! Glad you had a good weekend!
Thank you very much :)
very wise girl. I like people like you. Not empty head. Very deep personality, respect for nature, humanistic values, useful skills, valuable life.
Thank your comment, appreciate it :)
Nice camp you've got there. Good to see youth with such interests. New to the channel :)
Thank you!
Awesome video. I really like your campsite. Makes me think of an old early settlers fort.
Unfortunately where I live in Virginia we do not have Birch trees native to my area. We do have lots of pine so fat wood is here for fire starting. We do have maple trees so we can tap those and make maple syrup. One county over from me they have a two week maple festival. We headed to it next week.
Love your channel and watching you grow in your knowledge. I am teaching my granddaughter many of these things. She is only 10 but loves to head to the woods with me for camp outs and learning things. I show here your channel when she comes for a visit.
Ah thats a shame but at least you have a lot of pine trees they have multiple uses also. Aw nice, bet that festival is good, the syrup must taste lovely. Enjoy! Thank you very much glad you like my channel, love that hope you grandaughter stays with it. Take care
thank you
Thanks for watching
Good video
Pleased to see that you plugged the tree after it’s generous gift.😀🏕

I want a girl like this for a daughter. One that will put me in a lean-to in the forrest, rather than into a nursing home when I get old...
.
Girl Outdoors - Recently carlisle 195 has put up some videos of building a clay kiln and while it's now taller than you, the first few times he and his friend used it, it was about the size yours is now. It might be worth checking out his videos on it.
This channel deserves way more than 7k subs
Aw thank you :)

Ray mears videos are very good if you want to learn more and you will find loads on you tube
Moss when dry can be used on cuts and for other things
There is a fungi that can be used for plasters and to sharpen knives with.
Sounds like you done your research well about Birch tree tapping and well done for doing that
Keep up the good work and thanks for posting another interesting video
Thank you for sharing your knowledge and watching my video :)
good job I love birch trees so many uses and very similarv to humans in their life span and water content...hope your mum is feeling better soon
Yeah very true what you say about the trees, was fab tappping the trees that weekend. Thank you :)
The only part of the tree that's alive is the roots and the outside layer of the tree under the bark and the leaves.
Some people just cut a limb off and cut an x in a water bottle cap and slide it over the limb and they do several limbs to have more to drink.
But all your video's are great.
Verry nice to see that you can take care of your self,... thank you for your time.
Thank you :)
Great video Becky. Love tapping birch for the sap. Keep them coming :) jay

Cracking video becky, really impressed with your skills at a young age, give yourself a big pat on the back!!
Ohh I love the woods shelter.....it’s pretty safe....
That is one cool video I used to do that when I was little first time I seen it done in a long time your allsome
eating from the frying pan is the best saves on washing up and keeps the food hotter for longer
Inspirational !!!! - so very well done.
Thank you!
Thank You. .
One thing that you might want to keep in mind is to drill or tap at a slight upward angle. It collects the sap better.
nice video, i tap maple trees out here in maine haven't tried birch, will have to give it a go
Thank you, nice one :)
you do a great job Becky. you should be proud of yourself

Thank you very much for your comment
Girl Outdoors you're welcome 😉
Awesome video. Great job.
I thoroughly enjoyed your video. Thanks!
Thank you glad to hear that!
The best part for me was at the end .. plugging the hole. A lot of peopel tend to forget that :o maybe another idea !! Is use bee wax or pine resin to seal off the edges of the plug. That way you prevent the tree from becoming sick as well :)
Yeah great experience, yeah used sap and also moss as it has many antimicrobial and anti viral agents, to prevent infection. Thanks for sharing take care
Nice job Girl! I learned some things about the silver Birch that I did not know, thank you! :) Say "hello" to your Dad for me, I have daughters of my own :) Sending love from the Great Smoky Mountains ~~^^^~~

Thank you so much for your lovely comment, take care :)
Thanks Becky greetings Jan
Thank Jan
Its actually more beneficial to the tree to leave the hole in the tree and for the tree to heal itself, putting a foreign object back in the hole can cause the tree to rot on the inside or contaminate it, you may not realize it tho untill you cut the tree down..i have seen several maple trees rot inside from being plugged.. so its better to let it heal itself...enjoy your videos and your amazing person. Good luck with future videos and endeavors, keep up the good work.

Yep whoop whoop aha
lol good show nice to see your dad pop in there.:-)
Great video! I have a couple questions, can you warm up the sap before drinking and how do you sanitizer you eating utensils? Thank you for sharing another sweet video. Hope your mom is feeling better.
Thank you, i am not sure about warming up sap, i know when you boil it, it can turn to syrup but i reckon its possible. I boil hot water and wash my plate etc with that a cloth. Thanks again :)
Thanks for your reply. I was just thinking it might be nice warm drink on a cool morning. I figured you would use moss or sand. Hot water is definitely the first call. Keep the great videos coming.
Your a real credit to your parents. Nice little video.
thank you :)
