The looks that they give each other when they walk out is priceless. Like most women she has planned her perfect wedding day and is ecstatic she has the man she wanted and the wedding she wanted. He on the other had is like most guys and loves her and He was able to give her the wedding she wanted, but would have probably preferred to elope to Vegas, or have an intimate ceremony on a cliff overlooking the ocean at sunset with just a few close friends.
The ending was so perfect. One of my favorite movies. Never get tired of it.

This movie is so outstanding. No over the top CG. No big budget. No designer trash. Just pure childhood nostalgia. PJs. Scarves. Simple hairdo. Selfies. Mom jeans. It’s so down to earth. Pure talent of casts and crews.

@@AnnJo-gq8gu yeah I thought about it then I realized that's what causes some of my dreams to come true sporadically throughout my life. Those deja Vu moments cause me to always say wtf when it happens cuz I clearly experienced it before. So far only a few actually happened. I meant the dreams I had when I was in 5th grade came true recently. 😑 Surprisingly I still remember those after all these years.

I'm not even a big rom-com kinda gal but I just watched this movie and it is honestly one of my favorites, this ending is so sweet
I just realized that if Jenna had stayed close to Matt all those years he might have turned out different. He might still carry extra weight and not have been as charming, but they would've loved each other anyway.

I remember I gave the loan of my DVD to a friend of mine and she couldn't get the ending of it.
Well, no, it's just that she made another wish in her head to go back to where this all started. The wishing dust was still on the dollhouse, so the breeze picked it up and it swirled around her so she was able to go back to 1987 and change her ways. It does seem sort of stupid, doesn't it?

Let's see if I interpret the wedding scene correctly. It's the actual passage of time and Jenna really IS 30 now and not some 13 year old in a 3-0 year old body.
... or jenna never time traveled at all. She had a psychotic break and lost 17 years of memories, reverting to a childlike personality, and when things only got worse she suffered a more profound break with reality. Now she's locked up in a psychiatric facility somewhere, probably strait-jacketed and drooling, imagining herself going back in time and getting matty.
