    I have a stammer. I was born with it and I’ll die with it.
    You done really well in this video. I certainly wouldn’t be able to record a video especially due to my anxiety (talking to people I don’t know is too hard)
    Looking forward to watching more of your videos 😊😊

    I do not have a stutter or a stammer but I have learned so much about people who stutter through your channel! Thank you! Could you maybe do a video where you talk about how stuttering affects your reading or the worst experience you have had in public because of your stutter?
    Love hearing your stories!

    I have no idea when or how I started, but I remember it was at its worst in high school. which was pretty hard to deal with. though most people were pretty good about it. Sometimes in English we'd read out loud, and the teacher would move down the line from one student to another and my heart would beat louder and louder as it was approaching my time to read aloud. Just horrible :( You may not think it, but you are very brave for making theses videos, and you're also helping remove the shame and stigma many stutterers feel :)

      Amb has this happen as well. Highschool was very difficult for her too. Even to the point of home schooling, skipping school etc. Some teachers were great and others not so much.

    I also have a speech impediment. Here's tips that help: bowing helps, using the tounge a lot helps, meditation helps, yoga helps, moving the body helps, singing helps, whispering and raising your voice helps. Not hesitating, helps. Making "faces" helps. Being so called "weird" also helps to not stutter. Maybe you're a LIGHTWORKER (NEW AGE OF AQUARIUS ) I also made a video on stuttering tips. Peace and love. Electric light love !!!!!

    I think stuttering is caused by a traumatic event between the ages of 2-7. As a Clinical Hypnotherapist I have found the cause of 100% of my clients. anything from a dog barking in a child's face, to a child seeing some one get shot. This is the spectrum that I have worked with. If any one has any questions about finding the cause of your stutter, please let me know. I think if you can find the cause, you can get to the cure. Thank you for your time

    Many stuttering therapists are too quick to believe that a child’s stuttering is developmental in nature. The prevalence of psychogenic stuttering (even among children) is than they realize. That is, stuttering that is caused by an emotionally traumatic event or a period of emotional stress. Or mental illness resulting from a dysfunctional home. PTSD is often a result, and makes the stuttering worse. Only after the PTSD has been adequately treated can stuttering therapy be effective. I “have been there”.

    Hey, I stutter as well. I noticed about 14 years ago that I didn't stutter when I cut out all junk food from my diet and replaced it with clean healthy whole foods. Like raw seeds and nuts, salads, and fruit and also replacing sweet drinks with clean water. Hope this helps.

    It's funny how people who don't stutter write "tips" and "tricks" like oh speak slowly or don't use this or that letter blah blah in the comments. You seriously think we wouldn't do that if it were that easy? We're not stupid, we stutter.

    Hello
    Just a short comment on yor story. What your mom told you as to how you started stuttering is plausable. Any tramatic inncident that happens especially when you are very young can lead to negative issues such as stuttering . It is one of many things that can happen as your body and brain can go into a defense mode. There is more to it then that and there is also some reading on it, whihc is dicussed in phycology classes in both in high school and college. My younger brother developed stutter in third grade He he had a pretty bad teacher.who did not give him the proper attention he needed. As a result the effect was that he develoed a stutter. The next year when he had a much better teacher who gave hime tehproper attetnion needed, the stutter gradually but steadily in went away. Its one of several theories with stuttering which has merrit to it. I know this as I a am teacher have been for many years and had to study some of this while getting my graduate degree in eduction..

      Larry Sachs Hi Larry;
      Thank you for your insight. Amb’s grandfather also stuttered all through school. Once he graduated, the stuttering decreased a lot. So we know that it is hereditary somewhat too. Amb went to a daycare that they constantly would stop her from asking questions. Once we found this out, we pulled her out. We were lucky enough to get her into speech classes which has given her tools to help. I’m so proud of her for taking this on and how hard she is working on herself.

    I started stuttering when i was in ..4th grade? it got horrible in middle school. i remember i accidentally wrote an answer twice in a row in this paper that the teacher had each of us grade each others in the class. this chick that graded my paper said out loud "wow, he even stutters in paper". ha, lil bitch, but yeah stuttering does suck but it does mature us i believe to see and notice who are douche people. Also, i've noticed that a lot of people who stutter are caring and artistic.
    I feel ya, sis.

    apparently my mom have a chance to save me from stuttering but choose not to. my kindergarden teacher suggested to my mother that i get speech therapy but my mother was so offended that she told the teacher to mind her own business. (actually she just ignored the teacher) lol. her pride prevented me from getting better.

    • @nspector
      @nspector 6 лет назад

      Very sorry to hear this. I know a lot of parents don't want to face that their child has a speech difficulty. They just ignore the whole thing. Sometimes early intervention can help a lot. But sometimes not. So you may not have been helped in the sense of your stutter going away. About one in five children who stutter will stutter as adults. But you might have been helped in how to live with it as a child especially, how to deal with the anxiety, other people, all of that.

      @@barbaracook760 Yes, I agree! And I should have said in my comment: I have seen many (many) young adults and not-so-young adults become much more comfortable as people who stutter. A good speech therapist can help a lot. And the NSA -- The National Stuttering Association -- has been a life saver for many people. They have chapters all across the US and annual conferences. Many other countries have the equivalent as well. Wishing you the best.
