Wow! What an incredible Peart Solo that night. It’s magnificent to be able to look back on these past Rush concerts with such great memories. Truly professional live performances...
Great Instrumental! Love RUSH! Loved Neil's Solos. Saw these guys 4 times live. The SIGNALS TOUR WAS MY FAVORITE. These guys were poetry in motion. Neil, you are gone, but will never be Forgotten! R.I.P. Brother, YOU WERE THE BEST!!!😢🔊🎼🎵🎶🎙🎸
I first heard this song on a jukebox while I was on a date after a divorce. At the time, I had no idea that it was Rush. The date itself lead to no small bit of trauma. However, the Counterparts album turned out to be very therapeutic and still may be my single favorite Rush album. It has probably not been good for my hearing, long term.... :)
Loved the sound of those Ludwigs! And the sound of " real" cymbals on the electronic kit is 1000% better than any of the Roland V-drum cymbals he used later. So many videos I've seen where the Roland cymbals never cut through the mix or had obvious technical issues. How bout the quick grab of the drum key to crank down on the snare a couple of turns at the 7:57 mark! Lol...
HELL YES!! His Ludwigs and that 22" Tama Gong Bass drum gave his kit such range. His DW kits sucked. I’m not even going to mention those Paragon metal discs he played 🤮
@@apieceofdirt4681 Lol.... I know ! Not a fan of those metal discs either!! Heard his ride on another video of a sound check and was stunned, literally, how clanky it sounded !!!!!! Regardless, I will always be a NP fan ! RIP....
This was hilarious! Bad bunny shot good bunny lol. That was how they came to end the bunnies as stage props lol. I remember our whole group was shocked the first time we saw them on this tour when that happened. We gasped for a minute then laughed lol
WOW I was at this show! Amazing night. The outside of MSG had the Counterparts cover on their big screen. I was bloown away when they rolled out Hemispheres during the encore medley! I was maybe 5th or 6 th row in front of Alex. OOOFFFFaaa I paid about $350 for that pair of ticks.
Same here Bro! MSG March 9, ‘94! They had TWO sold out shows here and it’s no wonder why!! However I was barely High School and had section 350 something. I was most blown away by hearing Xanadu (oh & the rabbits😝) Still…Being 5th row must’ve been surreal!! So jealous but at least we were BOTH graced with the presence & immortal music of Rush!! 🤘🤩🤘
Main monkey business is pretty good. Their instrumentals on roll the bones, counterparts and t4e dont sound like instrumentals to me. They sound like regular songs that dont have vocals.
Killer solo, very energetic and some cool new tricks he used that were done away with later (and were replaced with more cool tricks as part of his reinvention in 1997). Plus the last time for the Ludwigs.
You never fail to provide the rarities! I'm currently uploading A View From The Palace HQ version restored and remastered by me from an original gen copy and I'm sure you will enjoy it.
Snowdog Haha of course you have it I should have known, yours is better than almost all other copies on here. You can see and be the judge will see if RUclips keeps the bitrate the same as what I have here. Mainly I worked on the video running plugins that clean up the over saturation and hue problems that make Geddy look like an oompaloompa half the time.
StickHits Do you happen to have a copy of Rush playing at Auburn Hills in 1990? I’ve been dying to find the whole concert in better quality since the only complete copy on RUclips is a very low resolution 9th generation tape that looks like shit. I think the person who made the bootleg purposely made the quality awful.
One of the nicer portions of the concert back then (saw them in St. Louis 4/4/94 day after my 26th Bday) as the tour wasn’t as badass cool as Roll the Bones PLUS they stopped doing the encore medleys which passed off LOTS of us fans believe me 🤬
I am having trouble understanding how this recording was made, there were no smartphones back in 1994 like there are today, and so this must have been a really super good super expensive recording device with a really good stereo mic Wow I can barely do something similar on Fremont Street today, and this is over 25 years later like I said I simply cannot understand what kind of technology this is? And I really thought I knew a lot I guess not enough about video that's for sure
It was typical Rush humor. Having bad bunny shoot good bunny was their way of ending the bunny theme on stage lol. I loved it. It was sneaky and made everyone gasp.
When the drum solo starts at a rush concert, people run from the bathrooms and concession stands to their seats.
Actually…at a Rush concert, NO ONE ever LEAVES their seats!😝
🤘🤩🤘
This has sent shivers down my spine. God I miss them.
They were the band humanity needed but didn't deserve
Miss them badly also miss being 25 when this was played.. 😅
Wow, just absolutely wow. The greatest ever. Rest in peace Neil ⚘
I know it is kinda randomly asking but does anybody know of a good website to watch newly released series online ?
Alex's work on this is sublime.

Awesome.... I miss them all so badly.
Alex's solo is the core of this tune. Ged and Neil back it up so wonderfully.
Anybody else here because Geddy’s « My effin’ Life » book? He described exactly this, including the crowd reaction!!! Amazing!
I’m here cause I was THERE and it was an AMAZING site to see this!
As ALL Rush is!!
🤘🤩🤘
alex: long sleeves
geddy: short sleeves
neil: no sleeves
Variety is the spice of life.
Drums sound so good on this, thank you!!
Ludwig drums are the best!! not his last DW crap he used.
@@dorian2112 The TAMA’s are my favorite, but I also really love the Ludwig’s.
@@dorian2112 More like DW bullshit. That last r40 was beautiful but sounded horrible. Way too dark and lacking attack.
RIP Neil Peart january 7,2020
Truly awesome
Excellent intro from the world's best band
Great post Sir
TRUER WORDS HAVE NEVER BEEN WRITTEN!!!!! (And I oughta know, I'm FREAKING OLD!!!!👵)
Alex and PRS, its a beautiful thang.

To show the greatness that is Neil Peart, I didn't even notice it until you mentioned it. Good eye, my friend!

Thank you a million times for this!!!!!!
Whoever cut Neil’s solo short should be ashamed of themselves
Wow, I was at this show. Thanks for posting.
the person shooting should never be allowed to shoot another concert. bass led and driven song, and the camera is barely on geddy.

@ awesome story! I thought they would have swung back through NY later in the year, but they cut that tour short. So glad I got to go!

I adore this song. Probably their best instrumental.

I really miss these guys...
They gave us 33 albumbs..
How many bands have done that...? Count them , if you can.. I'll wait...
That snare tho.........

Unfortunately, RUclips works differently. This is best seen by the number of views :)

Say what you will.RUSH were always professional.almost tactical.Till next time boys.❤
Counterparts was where Geddy was falling into into his final form.
I remember this!
I freaked at Maple Leaf Gardens the instant he was doing his trademark YYZ crotales pattern backwards x Neil rules
Beyond words
I so much prefer his drum mix back then and the roll the bones tour. his Ludwigs. DW for some reason never sounded as good. thats for uploading
sux the first part was lost. was looking forward to the 6" tom. Ludwig!

I have questions.
Great video, always loved those Ludwig’s. But, one question, why was there a cut at 6:08?
Probably the tape went bad.
I wish Neil would’ve never met Freddie Gruber.
The rabbits are so creepy
I feel cheated, sort of. I went to see them for the Counterparts tour but they didn't bring out the rabbits.
5:07 is there a better drum fill in the history of ever?
You can tell how old by the drumset.

why mike portnoy go in rush..? that teacher and student
Those bunnies were so lame, one of Rush's missteps visually.
Matt Markus - I agree. What were they thinking?
Matt Markus I believe it had to do with the Presto album but I could be wrong
Of course it had something to do with Presto, but it doesn't make it less lame unfortunately.
Matt Markus Great album though!
