Thanks for posting this. Very helpful. Took me about 2 hours. The biggest PITA for me was the single upper bracket bolt. Otherwise not that bad of a project.

Thanks for the feedback! :) I would say if this started happening intermittently (every once in awhile) and progressively got worse to the point that it now doesn't work at all, then yes, I would say it is the same motor that I replaced. If all of a sudden it stopped working completely out of the blue, it could be something else, maybe try replacing the fuse first?

Hey Chris: I hope you won't mind, I posted this comment on one of your other videos but then saw this video about replacing the motor:
I love my 4X4 Armada LE that I bought new in 2005 and have taken very good care of. The only issue I continue to have is with the lift gate. In warm weather, when I try to activate the rear lift gate, it will start to open a few inches but will then beep 3 or 4 times and go back down. If I try again, and help it along, I can get it to go up to the top. The same thing happens in reverse when I try to put it down; It beeps and then goes back up. Can anyone tell me why this is happening? I have replaced the 2 hydraulic struts so I know this is not the issue and have made sure that joints appear to be lubricated properly internally. I hope you have a tip for me!

Great question. My guess is that it may be the part I replaced in this video, the main motor for the lift. These motors go bad after time and start doing weird things. Actually the first used part I bought to replace this that I mentioned in the video, did the same thing you are describing, so I returned it and got a different used part, the one here in the video, which works perfectly. So I'm 90% sure it is the lift motor that is defective. Hope this helps!

@@SocketDaddy ; Thanks, Chris. I too bought a used motor assembly for $125.00 delivered, from Ebay. I still have that warm fuzzy feeling from when I tested it and all was good in the world! It is still functioning beautifully. Your about cycling the unit after installation did the trick. Thanks again for all of your efforts here.
