i dont mean to be offtopic but does any of you know of a method to log back into an Instagram account? I somehow lost my login password. I would appreciate any tricks you can offer me!
@Mekhi Wesson thanks for your reply. I found the site thru google and I'm waiting for the hacking stuff atm. I see it takes quite some time so I will get back to you later with my results.
And again you're proving us that you are the best E46 RUclipsr. A lot of useful details and small things that can be important for some of us. Great cameraman too!
Great content on this channel! Even with DIYs that are straightforward and simple, you provide really helpful tips and tricks. It shows that you’ve done these repairs tons of times. The M54 tear down has to be the most informative E46 DIY video out there, just to see how it’s all put together. Keep it up!!
Oil level sensor was job no.3, successfully done, thanks to this guy. Videos are concise & to the point. Great chanel. Keep up the good work. Thanks mate.
Bro ur video made it alot easier to me to remove my oil level sencer and replace it,, the only thing that kicked my ass was putting that plate back on,, I seen u said if u dont have another person use ur car jack to hold it up so I could get those 8 bolts back in,, 45 minutes to take the damn thing off,, and 10 minutes to put it back on,, ur a life saver,, ur videos help alot,, keep making them,, cause that is how I'm learning to do stuff,,
Finally remembered to order a sensor BEFORE I changed my oil this time. Clear walk through and good tip with the oil filter cap, I always make a mess by completely removing it filled with oil.
You the realest fam. Have a playlist of all your DIY's for the E-46 I am buying this week. First Beamer and I'm excited! Preesh for all the helpful content!
i love this channel so much, if it wasn’t for you and the50skid i would have no idea what i’m doing on my e46, i recently replaced my oil level sensor and the seal started to leak because it was a no name manufacturer so i overtightened the bolts and broke 2 studs 😭 had to replace my whole oil pan and it’s still leaking so i’m just gonna get an oem one this time
I have used your video and I must say is very well prepared. Thanks a lot for guidance so I was able to repair my HEADACHE from the start I have bought my E46 . Thanks a lot!
Dont the reinforcement bolts need to be replaced with new ones? I did this and used old bolts and get a vibration like suspension noise over bumps sometimes
Thanks for youre video ur the best so easy it explains everything you would save me lots of money..i watch you all the time whenever I need some work on my e46...thanks
Last year I change oil lever sensor, slowly time to time when you turn off engine, appears yellow oil lamp for 20 seconds and than disappears, now it appears every time when i turn off engine, oil is in level, Could it be bad oil level sensor??? What do you think, nowhere I can't find the information !
Had this basically since my last oil change. Might as well do it on the next one. Thanks for the guide, always nice to see what to do before pulling parts.
hi - excellent video. Wish you were in Rockland county NY. I would bring my truck to you for sure!!!! Question though i have x5 e53 3.0i engine and keep getting p1092/p1093 codes. Changed so much last year for inspection and 10 months later - boom - codes again... 4 new o2 sensors, disa, mass air flow meter, icv, ccv cold kit, rubber intake boots, coils and plugs - what else is there other than a new truck??? thanks for any direct leads.
Love the channel bro!! Question went to dealership for their health care front line discount on oil change Got home and massive oil leak under my car jacked car up and the oil drain plugged was not secured . I went and tighten it and no more oil leak. Fast forward few days later the oil light is on The oil level does not show Took it to bmw dealership and they say it’s a faulty oil level sensor I got another one and installed it my self because I don’t trust this guys anymore I’m still reading inactive oil level reading I can’t read the oil level I know I have the right amount of oil because I measured it and no oil leak underneath Do I need a software update I drive 08 bmw e93 m3 Thanks for help
Hi shoplife tv My yellow oil warning light is on when starting my bmw and go away after 10 second. Than when riding and is slow down the red oil warning light pop up, when accelerate again it goes away. And coming again when stop. Oil level is fine. What’s wrong!!! Thanks 🙏
I really enjoy your videos, you gave us good and practical information. However, just a technical video critique ...can’t use auto focus for it tends to wonder, it’s best to do it manually. Thanks!
I love your videos I have a 2008 e92 328i and my level sensor 1 inactive so I changed it out and I still have the same thing except I noticed when I started reading the codes then I'm also missing the water pump I have read there on the same lines it says BSD lost communication
Can you do a video on replacing the hood bonnet sensors on a 2002 E46 M3? My SMG gear indicator keeps flashing on all gears except neutral, but I’m still able to drive smoothly! Would greatly appreciate it!
My 325 e46 cranks too long but eventually it starts. I’ve changes coil packs, spark plugs, fuel filter/oil pressure regulator, fuel pump relay, fuses all good too. What can it be?? Please if you have something for me please let me know.
Hi just did same on BMW Z4 2.0 and all I’m getting from the read out is error oil? Also got a code p1127 which said manufacturers control?? Gonna change the oil again and change the oil pressures sensor also see if this helps
I don't get the yellow oil indicator light at any time, however INPA shows a persistent error 27C3 thermal oil level sensor. No CEL however, but clearing the codes just has the same code return at next startup. Is this still a faulty sensor?
I sometimes get red oil light for the first 2 seconds after starting (always wait for self tests to complete). Car leaks oil, unclear from where. This all happened after it once was started without an oil filter. Getting LCM Error Code 28/01 - Thermal Oil-Level Sensor Defect. Ideas?
Hey man does a bmw 328i 2000 5 speed have a Thermostat on the bottome of the coolant tank also does it matter if we take off the cover of the coolant level senser
So I just got a 2003 330ci convertible and after an oil change I notice small amount of yellow cream like substance under the oil cap also spotting of the same cream like substance on the dipstick. In your opinion do you think it’s a blown head gasket or the CCV needs to be replaced?
my car only does 3k miles a year and city driving. I use Castrol 5w40. Would you still recommend changing it every 9 months still ? car has 65k miles e46 and no oil needs topping ever
I have a 2000 323i automatic. I remove the resonator and muffler now I feel like the bottom end has loss power. 30 mph and up feels better. What’s going on. Thanks
Good vid! I changed my oil sensor 3 months ago however I have a feeling it might be calibrated wrongly. Last time I added oil the dipstick was below minimum required and I didn’t have a low oil light... any ideas?
My yellow low oil light indicator comes on about a minute after starting. I added haf a quarter, even though it says add 1 quart. Could it still be the sensor, since it still comes on.
Hi! My e46 stays in the yellow light for 5 seconds after power up and then hangs up. Can it be a level sensor? Is it a problem to use the parallel sensor (second line)? Thank you
Hallo boss , I have the same car and i have problem in the car that the light of motor oil always on and losing oil ... many workshops have tried to solving it but nothing changed... do you think it's a sensor problem??
I love your channel bro! I recently bought an '02 325i and your videos are super informative! I got the oil level sensor light shortly after the purchase and will be doing the change in the next month or so. I also have concern that my car is either leaking oil or consuming lots of oil. I have no spots in my garage... Where should I check for leaks?
Check beneath the oil filter housing and left to the block you have this small metal plate (sits a bit lower than the highest point of the block) it's hard to explain but just check with a flashlight. Very common leaks, I had them too but they don't drip on the ground.
Does anyone know why the red oil pressure light goes off intermittently when on drive gear and only on idle? Changed my pressure switch and the light remains after engine has warmed.
Hello, I just bought a 2005 BMW 325i and it's my first Bmw. I had a service engine light come on and took it to advance auto parts. The guy wrote down these codes but idk what they are but under the code he wrote the cause of the light. Please help!!!! Thanks!!! 10179- Oil level sensor, 10603- Lambda Sensor, 10593- Lambda Sensor and 52619 network communication. Also when I bought the car the headlights bulbs was on the dashboard on the car display??? Any help from anyone would be great!!! Thanks
Goddam, what kind of rubber does BMW use that even a small seal like that leaks. I know replacement this seal not difficult to do but that's not my point. Even the windshield washer tank is leaking from the seal where the pump connects to the tank. Good thing I like working on my BMW!!

After I watched your video I feel like I can do the oil change and reset the oil lamp on my own. Very detailed.👍
Finally remembered to order a sensor BEFORE I changed my oil this time. Clear walk through and good tip with the oil filter cap, I always make a mess by completely removing it filled with oil.
Very informative, clear shots, and not annoyingly enthusiastic
Great vid, keep it up

Nice video. Im in Europe, BMW is a european brand, and trust me, you know a lot more than the average shops here! Keep the good work 👍🏻

Thanks so much for all the info on the E46 bro! just bought a 2000 328ci, and your content really helps me understand a lot about my car.
I have used your video and I must say is very well prepared. Thanks a lot for guidance so I was able to repair my HEADACHE from the start I have bought my E46 . Thanks a lot!

Man., all I can say about, u are an e46 expert bro
Solid video bro. Really well done
I enjoy your quality information and insights
Had this basically since my last oil change. Might as well do it on the next one. Thanks for the guide, always nice to see what to do before pulling parts.
I would suggest using a torque wrench especially for the sensor bolts on the oil pan
Thank for the info I need to change my oil sensor for sure
So if you don’t change the oil sensor will that be a problem for your car? Thanks for recommending to check the oil after each gas fill.
hi - excellent video. Wish you were in Rockland county NY. I would bring my truck to you for sure!!!! Question though i have x5 e53 3.0i engine and keep getting p1092/p1093 codes. Same. Wonder if it's this
Thanks a lot i've looked a lot about what brand oil level sensor to buy.
I really enjoy your videos, you gave us good and practical information.

i pulled the code 10179 thermal oil level sensor would doing this clear that said code thank you for the help keep up your good videos.
You certainly made that swap easy for me. Thank you!
So I check my oil personally every fill up, can you just code this sensor out and use a block off plate?
Should i change the oil of my m54? Because i fill 1 Liter every 2 weeks in the motor. It burns a lot of oil. Or do i just change the oil Filter?
Great video, very informative and something any diy person can understand.
Thanks very much, great video *****
Highly informative!
what if the oil level sensor isn't giving a warning light on the cluster when the oil is extremely low? I assume it's bad?
Hello. Thanks for this video. My oil sensor light is always off anytime I put the ignition key to start. Now, I know where to search.
Sont you need to fill up the oil housing or put your contact on first (for no dry start)?
In the E38 and E39 with the 'High mid there is no warning that the sensor is bad. You have to scan the cluster for faults to know.
nice vid! i have a 530d 2002 e39 51K miles and im getting the 28 thermal sensor for oillevel defect. was that the same fault code you got?
Can you do a video on replacing the hood bonnet sensors on a 2002 E46 M3? My SMG gear indicator keeps flashing on all gears except neutral, but I’m still able to drive smoothly! Would greatly appreciate it!

Would cleaning the mating surface be a good extra? I personally do it. Just figured I would share my 2cents
Hey Bro, nice video. Is there a fuse for the oil sensor?
Good vid bro stay blessed and thanks from all of us
Great video. My car has this very problem. Oil sensor need to be replaced.
Can you do a front axle diagnostic and replacement for a 2005 e46.?
Does this fix red flickering oil light of death.
Hi just did same on BMW Z4 2.0 and all I’m getting from the read out is error oil? Also got a code p1127 which said manufacturers control?? Gonna change the oil again and change the oil pressures sensor also see if this helps
Hi there, dont you have a video of.how to replace bmw m3 e46 rear pinion seal?
The oil level sensor. Can make your fuse blowing up?
I don't get the yellow oil indicator light at any time, however INPA shows a persistent error 27C3 thermal oil level sensor. No CEL however, but clearing the codes just has the same code return at next startup. Is this still a faulty sensor?

Trying to figure out were my father's 2006 BMW 325i oil sensor is located at hopefully it's is in the same area. because this video is excellent
Hi David, did you ever figure out if its the same location for the 2006 325i?
Hello I am French and would like to know if this sensor is compatible with a BMW 330 CI / E46 please. Thank you.
Do you had any power loss problems due to the faulty oil level sensor?
my car only does 3k miles a year and city driving. I use Castrol 5w40. Would you still recommend changing it every 9 months still ? car has 65k miles e46 and no oil needs topping ever
I been needing to do this to my car
Great commentary!!!!!
Last time I added oil the dipstick was below minimum required and I didn’t have a low oil light... any ideas?
The low oil indicator is not calibrated to come on at the min line, but I don't know how low the oil has to be to trigger it
Is this process similar to a 04 X5 3.0i?
My yellow low oil light indicator comes on about a minute after starting. I added haf a quarter, even though it says add 1 quart. Could it still be the sensor, since it still comes on.
just had this problem on my n55.. headed to bmw to get the 7 dollar part ^^
Thank you, awesome video and very informative.
Hi! My e46 stays in the yellow light for 5 seconds after power up and then hangs up. Can it be a level sensor? Is it a problem to use the parallel sensor (second line)? Thank you
My dip stick won’t show the oil level what do you think that could be I’ve added oil and it still won’t show
@shoplife my oil light came on and it's flashing...335i 03 what to do?
For higher mileage what weight would u recommend
Is a 2006 BMW 325i the same procedure
Hallo boss , I have the same car and i have problem in the car that the light of motor oil always on and losing oil ... many workshops have tried to solving it but nothing changed... do you think it's a sensor problem??
No. It's a losing oil problem.
Will it make it go into limp mode??
great advice, thank you
Are you meant to torque down the sump plug bolt to 25nm
My bmw read missfired on cylinder 4 and 6 how to fix that can you help me
"You do kinda want it to work"... 🤣🤣🤣
what torque do you use for the sensor nuts?
I love your channel bro! I recently bought an '02 325i and your videos are super informative!
