Timothy, Im a programmer and I build (among other things) websites. I was watching your video and I was thinking, candidly, “Why would someone go to so much effort to hand-craft an axe when you can just go to Home Depot and buy an axe for $30?” Then you ran an ad for SquareSpace, a website builder. During the ad I thought, “Haha, poor civvies, cannot write their own websites and have to go buy a mass-produced one.” It was not until the video was over and I was considering the title of the video, the question it asked, that I realized that I had answered it for myself.
There is a joy in craft, not just for the craftsman but also for the user of the craft-built piece. Don’t get me wrong, I’m a software engineer, I’m the last one who can rail against automation and the modern world. But thank you for reminding me what we need to hold on to.
After watching the video, I went back and made a minor tweak to a website I was working on last week. Not one person in 1000 would even understand the significance of the change if I explained it, and anyway, I doubt anyone at all will actually perceive it. It did, however, make me happy.

Another thing that most people don't know is that most axes you find in Home Depot or the like are actually pretty terrible axes. They get away with it because so few people these days use axes in any serious way, but for those that do, or at least who insist on tools that do their job well, these cheap commercial axes are basically junk. They are the equivalent to you building a customers website in a myspace template.
Cheap axe shaped objects use steel that is not proper for the purpose and won't harden to the appropriate hardness meaning they either dull quickly or chip and break. They have poor geometry that makes them cut badly and get stuck in the wood greatly increasing the effort required by the user. They have handles that are not made of proper materials and are not shaped well meaning they make the axe less comfortable to swing, and are more likely to break.

    Timothy,
I love everything about how you make and package your axes and hatchets. The only thing that would improve it would be for you to use wood wool aka wood excelsior. It is the packing material used back when everything was shipped in wooden crates like you do your axes. The crinkled paper shreddings just don't look right in those boxes.

One of the best selling points of the rail axes and hatchets is that the steel is all pre-nuclear age steel, so there is no nuclear contamination that can be found in ALL steel products produced after the initial tests in Nevada during the late part of WW2 and later., which is a specific requirement for steel in some scientific and medical instruments and can drive up the price significantly as people look to buy old stocks of steel that do not have such contamination. and your axes and hatchets are free of such contaminants, Timothy.
