  • Vintage Timex Q Quartz Simple Fix
This one was a quick simple and easy fix the battery+ connector pin was broken, were I reattached the connector and a quick cleaning with rubbing alcohol did the job.

Very helpful video. I think I have exactly the same issue. Can I ask where you got the replacement piece to insert into the positive terminal of the battery? Does it matter what metal you use? Like yours, my Timex Q does not have any holding mechanism to keep the battery in place. Does the rear case itself just hold the battery in position? Many thanks.

Sorry for the late reply. I used a piece from an old broken quartz movement and cut it to size. You can get this piece from any donor quartz movement. Or you can cut a piece from the main plate of the donor movement and use that. Any other metal may cause issues. The rear case itself should hold the battery in place, so long as you use the correct battery. Thanks for watching my video.

Thank you for watching the video. Soon, I will be uploading the second part of the video where I disassemble the dial face and polish the acrylic crystal.
