    Thanks for this! I have one of these and the mode selection is wearing down I think. Sometimes it takes several turns of the crown to get it to change the mode. It feels like it's slipping over a tooth. Not sure if it's the actual mode indicator, or the mode corrector wheel or what.

      Thanks for watching the video I hope you enjoyed, these vintage watches needs service, withing time they collect moisture on the circuit board. Hopefully a service should possibly fix this issue.

    Very helpful video. I think I have exactly the same issue. Can I ask where you got the replacement piece to insert into the positive terminal of the battery? Does it matter what metal you use? Like yours, my Timex Q does not have any holding mechanism to keep the battery in place. Does the rear case itself just hold the battery in position? Many thanks.

    • @RestoredByMBA
      @RestoredByMBA Месяц назад

      Sorry for the late reply. I used a piece from an old broken quartz movement and cut it to size. You can get this piece from any donor quartz movement. Or you can cut a piece from the main plate of the donor movement and use that. Any other metal may cause issues. The rear case itself should hold the battery in place, so long as you use the correct battery. Thanks for watching my video.

    I have a critical problem , I have an R41 movement which shows good time face down . But face up it shows -30 minutes /day .everything seems fine I even changed the balance wheel along with its bridge ..no change on the timegrapher ..seeing this , I even changed the palette fork with a known good one ...made no difference . What may the problem ? All suggestions are welcome The movement is a Ricoh automatic R41

    I have a NH36 doing a similar thing, where it’s not moving the balance wheel. I’ll check its balance wheel and see if its impulse jewel is missing. I have a new replacement nh36 movement ready to put into the watch, but I’m waiting for a replacement dial as the one that’s in my watch is misaligned.

    Thanks mate for putting this on. I have just bought a NH38 that stops after about 10 minutes. I bought it just to practice stripping and rebuilding seiko movements, but now I'm curious as to what the problem could be. I took the balance out and put it back in just to see if I had dislodged any debris, but it hasn't made any difference. I'll keep looking. Thanks again.

    Brilliant video, I’m of the same opinion with regards to fingers cots, I can’t use them at all and to be honest if you are clean and wash your hands before handling the movement the oils haven’t had enough time to produce enough to damage the surfaces, it’s all a bit over the top with many does and don’ts everyone has their own ways and we should always respect that.
