@@user-pf7qg9lc6p You can’t even spell cello and expect someone to take your opinion seriously? Metal was born out of borrowing from a lot of genres, namely blue and classical, in case you also didn’t know that. Even Beethoven’s late work can be categorized as “heavy”. Because you don’t get that or don’t appreciate it doesn’t change it’s state or roots 🤷♂️ Get a clue 😂🙌
what people don't realize about this is that the cello is one of the most physical instruments out there and it really takes a toll on your arms. that's partially what makes these guys absolutely amazing.
It's also extremely versatile. Back in the day I played the cello and decided to adapt some Irish jigs for it. I got the swallow tail jig down but didn't try to learn any more after that because it kicked the tar out of me. But it sounded AMAZING!
I just had to remind myself how awesome they were at the hard rock Las Vegas April 2015, the first time I even heard of them. These guys are incredible performers.
HybridGames If you "trapped under Ice" then you have to "escape". "The God that failed" is ,,holier than Thou,,. But he wants no "Blitzkrieg" "...and Justice for all".
See? That's what I try to tell my music students! I have the HARDEST time getting kids to play cello, because they don't think it's that "interesting".
Their interpretation skills are unbelievable. (1:30 - 1:50) I would see them on some classical music concert - they could play the hardest solo parts that have been written.
because Enter Sandman makes me feel warm inside, and very emotional, like wanting to be hugged and held tight, watching The Notebook and munching popcorn.
As a youth that solo amazed and inspired me to pursue my cello studies. 10 years later this I can finally play it but I'm even more amazed by them in every way.
I can just imagine how people react when they ask his occupation. "Yeah. I play the electric cello... in a rock band... with other electric cellos... and a drummer. Yup."
Botar Akutabi Most people who listen to metal can appreciate classic music. A recent research let people put a list from favourite to least favourite genre. Most people who had metal first had classic second or third on their list. It's probably not the other way around but opposite ends I don't think so.
Have you ever even really listened to "classical"?? There are tons of heavy songs. Lots of the Vivaldi stuff is like metal before metal. It's amazing. There are so many elements of metal that derived from these 1700s baroque pieces. The violin solos can be very similar to complex metal guitar solos.
I saw these guys for the first time last night - UNBELIEVABLE! I am not a big Metallica fan, but now I'm a HUGE Apocalyptica fan, WOOOOOOOOO! They're soooooo good, whoa!
I am really liking what I hear and see here. This is right up my alley... Hard Music, with classical undertones, the best of both worlds...Talk about Talent... The New Album is awesome..
These guys are awesome. Idc not strong enough are my favorites so far. I am really just starting to pay attention to them more. I listened to idc a lot when I was 12 and just last year remembered the song. So I listened to it again and really am Just now listening to every song of there's that has lyrics preferably.
Apocalyptica is pretty much a revolution for metal music... they show that metal can be played not just with a guitar, but a cello. and it sounds AWESOME. fuck those who doesn't like it.
Remember kids, you don't need to sound HARD to catch the attention of people, you need talent. Never gets tired of these guys.
Right 100%! I cannot have enough of them neither.
good point made but this still does sound as hard as it was intended.
Would have been talented show if they actually sung.
Singing would kinda ruin it. At least for me.
16years now and this is still my all time favorite version
Apocalyptica proves that Metal is Metal no matter what instruments it is played on love listening to them play
I agree
Me too
It has matter, can't play metal wiithout guitar, it's not even heavy, this band is bullshit
This band proves only that, with sellos no work metal, it's fact

This is why I wanted to play the cello mom! ):
sameeee
I just had to remind myself how awesome they were at the hard rock Las Vegas April 2015, the first time I even heard of them. These guys are incredible performers.
That has to be one of the tastiest drum-intros ever,
That intro is better than all of Lars Ulrich's drumming put together
The sound of the drums is so tight. i LOVE it!
yet he is doing a cover of lars work
Better than Lars for sure lol
This is the first time I've heard the term "tasty" used to describe the sound of drums
gives kids in school bands the world over hope they too can be cool with whatever instrument they wind up playing :)
What 4 stand up Basses I've never seen this awesomeness before....whoop whoop Indian calls and we riding horses today!
Raw
one of the coolest covers ever!!!
When I listen to these guys I like to imagine that their cellos are strung with barbed wire.
haha, that is ROCK!
That's brutal!
Better yet, the stretched-out entrails of their enemies! Or is that going a bit too far?
That has to be the most metal thing ive heard today lol
Jane Doe dude, that is SO metal...
metal/hard rock is the last bastion of true musicianship in rock.
Sad ... but true.
(See what I did there?)
Pete Stevenson You're not the "One".
+Thomas Renier you're not the last one to "turn the page"
+Lucas Radziejewski All of the puns are making me want to go drink all the "whiskey in the jar"
HybridGames If you "trapped under Ice" then you have to "escape". "The God that failed" is ,,holier than Thou,,. But he wants no "Blitzkrieg" "...and Justice for all".
I'm a strings teacher, and I played this for my classes last Fri. Yes, minds were blown.
These guys kick asssss! And they are REAL musicians to boot. How sweet is that???
Just cruising thru the net found these guys, where have I been their awesome.
See? That's what I try to tell my music students! I have the HARDEST time getting kids to play cello, because they don't think it's that "interesting".
stringendo1 watch 2cellos... there's true talent and they make even the classical stuff awesome!
Their interpretation skills are unbelievable. (1:30 - 1:50) I would see them on some classical music concert - they could play the hardest solo parts that have been written.
wooooooooooo fantástico grupo de violonchelo, me encanta su música, saludos desde Arequipa Perú
Never have it crossed in my mind that cello and violins could bring me to the rock metal concert! These guys are absolutely awesome!!!
this brought tears in my eyes... now I have to play some Megadeth to feel manly again.
+criztu Holy wars... The punishment due!
.. why?
because Enter Sandman makes me feel warm inside, and very emotional, like wanting to be hugged and held tight, watching The Notebook and munching popcorn.
criztu Oh, nice. I thought that you said that the song was kinda gay or something.
I love both metal and classical :-)
you should try nightwish
You should try 2Cellos. They do both but are more classical than Apo.
Clastal
"What kind of music do you usually have here?"
"Oh we got both kinds, we got metal and classical."
Music broooo, MUSIC... bring these times back
As a youth that solo amazed and inspired me to pursue my cello studies. 10 years later this I can finally play it but I'm even more amazed by them in every way.

"Yeah. I play the electric cello... in a rock band... with other electric cellos... and a drummer. Yup."
riffs and solos played on cellos...amazing
look at the passion all over Eicca´s face!
Anyone who can turn a metalica heavy metal song on guitaur drums bass and vocals into a cello masterpiece is one word EPIC!!!
Perfect for people who like metal and people who like classical, which are usually opposite ends of the spectrum.
haha, i can relate to that. I personally don't like the sound of metal(ish) music but metalica's compositions are insane! Especially the unforgiven
Botar Akutabi They go surprisingly well together. Symphonic metal is the proof of that.

Botar Akutabi Metal is much closer to classical then most other genres is.
