I saw Ivan Rebroff during his concert at the Sydney Town Hall years ago. A one man show that was superb. He played, of all things "Green Sleeves" on lute, being he said composed by Henry VIII an accomplished musician of his time.. A thoroughly entrancing peformance. I am glad I was there. He had the courage to sing Russian songs when it wasn't politically acceptable to do so. That's the calibre of the man. Art prevailed over all. RIP Gaspadeen Rippert-Rebroff.
I hope that this millenials understand how great this man was
They won't. He is forgotten almost completely. Which is weird, since his voice is 1 of a kind.
Thank you for posting...:)))) srong , deep and beautifull Bass voice.. :))
