@salviequihuis9721: If you're cruising at over 30K ft, then the outside air is too thin and you can't breathe enough oxygen to survive. Thus, the cabin is pressurized to the equivalent altitude of 10K-12K to make it a survivable and comfortable ride. The difference in air pressure between the inside (relatively high) and outside (relatively low) puts many pounds per square inch of outward air pressure pushing the plug-type exit door against its frame. I wanna see the video bc how could he open the door but not get sucked out of the plane?! What happened afterwards, like was he restrained or did he just go back to his seat until they landed
They were about to land. Cabin wouldn't still be pressurised because they were at a low altitude. When you see people getting sucked out of the door in movies, that's because of pressurisation, and would have happened if the plane was up high- but also it would be incredibly difficult to open the door at high altitudes anyway because of that pressure. There'd still be a risk of him falling out just from the wind though. Would be interesting to know the lead up and immediate aftermath.
I'm stunned that the passengers seemed so calm! I would've been screaming my head off, crying, praying and I know my soul would've definitely left my body permanently and I would've crossed over.
U can try but it's impossible becouse immediately you are stuffed with too much ear. You feel chocked. The best is close your mouth and try don't panick as passengers did.
That's not true. Their are no jump seats near the overwing exits for flight crew to sit in. Those that sit there must agree that they pass the criteria of sitting there and agree to the terms of helping in an emergency.
@@ssr6731 So you think planes are hundreds of meters long. If people don't sit near the possible danger area of that door, there will be very few people on a very huge plane.

Looked like they weren’t very high because if they were at cruising hight 32,000 feet the pressure inside the cabin would be sucked out instantly. The higher you go less pressure there is outside the plane more pressure there is inside.
@annistar9693He had severe issues. Not justified, granted, but he should not have been allowed next to them in the first place. Only physically and mentally fit people should be in that seat.
When you look at the open door, it makes perfect sense that no-one could shut it again mid flight. So then the passengers have to endure the heavy wind, which must not only be extremely strong but also extremely cold. Not to mention the panicky thoughts of how the wind might affect the flight controls and landing. What a nerve-wracking experience that would’ve been for them. I only wonder what the staff could’ve announced through the speakers to inspire a modicum of calm
The wind wouldn’t affect flight controls, extremely cold might be a stretch, as they were at 800 feet, I’ve been up at 7500 feet and was still hot with a window open. Then again that window was really small, so… idk
The people who had to go to the hospital for respiratory issues will probably be alright. Though I would've probably called it. The people on that plane having a five minute heart attack.
I saw a woman get yanked into a moving escalator when the plate on top popped off. Nobody even raised their voice ONCE. Not three shop girls, not the mother the whole time. Not the little kid. This SHOULDN'T be possible in US. The plates moving should cause a shutoff. Basic product design should dictate that the plates OVERLAP in such a way that result is physically impossible. Think manhole covers.
Makes me wonder if he was about to make an attempt on his own life. Tried to build the nerve the whole flight, pilot said they about to land, he thought "now or never" and opened the door.
The more important question is: why is it so easy for a passenger to do this? We’re spending billions trying to make security robust and all someone needs to do is pull a door handle to put lives at danger?
First of all, it was at 800 feet, lives weren’t really at risk, it would be pretty hard to die(assuming everyone’s wearing a seatbelt) Second, to keep the contraption simple, at high altitude the cabin pressure seals the door shut. It is nearly impossible to open. At low altitude, it is not sealed anymore, allowing it to br opened.
They were at low altitude so the pressure difference isn’t that much. At cruising altitude it’s pretty much impossible to open that door because of how it’s designed.,
Because bad landings with the plane catching on fire or sinking into water are more likely than some random crazy person opening the door at a low altitude. Passengers need to be able to exit the plane as quickly as possible during an emergency.
I literally cannot understand why people cannot control themselves.
Don’t why he did it but serving alcohol on planes is not a good thing

I think that breeze was suction, sucking the air out of their lungs.
What is wrong with people?!?!?
They were probably showing Twilight on that airplane ;-D

No flying ever again for that man...PERIOD!
How can that even happen? I would think there is some safety mechanism in place for mid flight.
because that would be boring i guess 😂
It's because he opened the "Emergency exit" and we can all see now that the door handle actually works.
its there in case another passenger farts
@@johnnysprocketz😂😂
I thought you couldn't open it because of the pressure
Thankyou for putting him behind bars. Can’t believe he manage to get on board without using his brain
😅😅
I don’t think they would have been able to scream due to the wind and pressure. They were probs screaming inside tho. Thank god everyone was ok.
Spencer Wilson you funny 🤣🤣
U can try but it's impossible becouse immediately you are stuffed with too much ear. You feel chocked. The best is close your mouth and try don't panick as passengers did.
Because they're asian. They don't exhibit any emotion.
That's crazy! So glad no one was seriously hurt.
If people got sucked out the plane that would of been more then funny to me lol 😂
@@Nick-1992-SRB ah yes, because death is "funny" to you.
Actually no one should sit near the exit doors except the stewards
That's not true. Their are no jump seats near the overwing exits for flight crew to sit in. Those that sit there must agree that they pass the criteria of sitting there and agree to the terms of helping in an emergency.
@@kellykeyes6223 what I meant was for future... For safety reasons not to allow anyone to sit near those seats
@@ssr6731 So you think planes are hundreds of meters long. If people don't sit near the possible danger area of that door, there will be very few people on a very huge plane.
@@htetwinkhant5595 there is only 2 emergency exit right?

Must have been a good read!

Only 10 years in jail for attempting mass murder?… no no
Good lord. I have a panic attack every time I land with the door closed. I can’t imagine how terrifying it must have been to be in front of that open door.
He should get much more than only 10 years!!!
Bruh do you realize how long a decade is?
Bruh, do you realize how far a plane falls when it crashes? Or how dead it can make everyone???
Yeah I am thinking the same, I am seeing comments everywhere where people just saying " he should be in jail for 10 years"
And I am like literally you put someone for 10 years for just 10 minutes, if we say someone your 1 college or school year is going to wasted, we would have protest on roads, but when it comes to law, These People are crying like Nonsense 2 year old Child Saying "10 years are not enough",
These all are Just No knowledge kids......@@centralintelligenceagency9003
He deserves a lot more than 10 years.
I'm surprised he didn't get ripped out of the plane.
Wasn’t pressurized. If it was pressurized, he wouldn’t have even got the door open.
Looked like they weren’t very high because if they were at cruising hight 32,000 feet the pressure inside the cabin would be sucked out instantly. The higher you go less pressure there is outside the plane more pressure there is inside.
@@ryans413this is physically impossible at altitude.
Jail time permanently. Also he's permanently banned from ever flying on any plane. Why do they put people like that on planes..
Why?! Why?! Just why?!!!!
Maybe the dog needed to go out.
According to the police investigation, he said he lost his job recently and just wanted to get off the plane;;
gotta let that fresh air in
@annistar9693He had severe issues. Not justified, granted, but he should not have been allowed next to them in the first place. Only physically and mentally fit people should be in that seat.
@annistar9693Have you heard about Germanwings before?
The guy in the blue shirt seemed to really enjoy the wind/air right in his face: probably a roller coaster lover LOL
He will probably say, “Whoops…I thought that was the bathroom door!”🫢
I suppose it could be if you weren’t too worried about the spray-back.
Lol. Oopsie-daisies!
He let the intrusive thoughts win. What a madlad.
Looks like the door blew right off.😅
@@carincampagna8590yeah..imagine where that door landed..hopefully not on people.
Sound of the wind might drown out any speaker announcement.
The wind wouldn’t affect flight controls, extremely cold might be a stretch, as they were at 800 feet, I’ve been up at 7500 feet and was still hot with a window open. Then again that window was really small, so… idk
You wouldn’t hear the intercom. The wind would sound like a tornado.
I would teach that guy a lesson as soon as the belt sign is off
If convicted up to 10 years? It should be life sentence.
It‘s only 194 passengers plus attendants and pilots, the cost of the plane and clean up crew after a possible crash and general other charges.

He knew what he was doing, waited for the plane to be low enough to be able to open the door.
it happened at the start not the landing
About to land the reporter reported
I hope the people on the plane are ok.
I would never think to do something that wasn't my business doing, unless a real emergency.
The people who had to go to the hospital for respiratory issues will probably be alright. Though I would've probably called it. The people on that plane having a five minute heart attack.
Those people looked calm af. Asians just built different.
True dat, we're taught to bust our ass and not make waves, i say fuck that!
People were pretty calm in the video
What the hell is going on with air travel lately?
When interviewed by the news the man was reported saying “oops”.
He wanted some fresh air...
Wow.. this video gives me anxiety 😢. I can’t even imagine how the passenger felt at the time
I hope the man who opened the door is very refreshed!
😂😂😂😂😂
Makes me wonder if he was about to make an attempt on his own life. Tried to build the nerve the whole flight, pilot said they about to land, he thought "now or never" and opened the door.
Maybe he was thinking it's a toilet door?
@@daisybrown362I know korea isn't the nicest place on earth, but no need to call it a toilet😅

“IF” convicted?
Every person on that plane needs to be at his trial. He could have taken any one of them away from their families.
Wtff?!?! I just can’t with people

10 years is a joke.
3 years, suspended for 5 was the last update Ive found

Prisoner 2: "For opening the airplane door mid-flight."
Prisoner 1: "Wait, seriously? 😂"
Prisoner 2: "Attempted murder of over 100 people". Corrected it for you.
No one tried to tackle him?
I am not surprised these days as to why someone wouldn't want to tackle and subdue a disruptive passenger.
I prefer to kick him out of the plane
Right. Why nobody stopped him. Nobody saw him trying to open the door???
They probably didn't dare unbuckle their seatbelts.
@@helenab9973 You would be surprised how fast such act goes. No one unexpecting would have time to react. So no need to blame
I am a blessing! Thank you Moonlight ❤xxx
The more important question is: why is it so easy for a passenger to do this? We’re spending billions trying to make security robust and all someone needs to do is pull a door handle to put lives at danger?
First of all, it was at 800 feet, lives weren’t really at risk, it would be pretty hard to die(assuming everyone’s wearing a seatbelt)
Second, to keep the contraption simple, at high altitude the cabin pressure seals the door shut. It is nearly impossible to open. At low altitude, it is not sealed anymore, allowing it to br opened.
They were at low altitude so the pressure difference isn’t that much. At cruising altitude it’s pretty much impossible to open that door because of how it’s designed.,
It needs to be easily opened by anyone in case of an emergency.
Because bad landings with the plane catching on fire or sinking into water are more likely than some random crazy person opening the door at a low altitude. Passengers need to be able to exit the plane as quickly as possible during an emergency.
12 ppl were taken to the hospital @@BBLdrizzy3334
