Kirk Whalum visits the Keilwerth Saxophone Workshop | J.Keilwerth

Jazz saxophonist and Keilwerth artist Kirk Whalum came by the workshop in Markneukirchen, Germany to test and select new saxophones.
Kirk treated us to a live performance of his famous "I Will Always Love You" solo in the workshop!
An eleven time Grammy nominee, Kirk Whalum won his first Grammy award for Best Gospel Song ("It's What I Do"-featuring Lalah Hathaway) .
It's his sax heard on the mega-hit, "I Will Always Love You." Kirk soon followed that career high point with his phenomenal hit album released on Warner Bros. Records, For You, perhaps the most successful of over 25 solo recordings to date.

If I have one claim to fame it would be that I was the salesman at Charles Music in Glendale that introduced Kirk to the first and only Keilwerth we had in the store at that time which he bought the next day. He is still wailing on it to this day.

Been playing a black nickel SX90R tenor since the early 90s, primarily due to Kirk. Amazing instrument, I'm looking at it right now and will be playing it later today.

I have recently acquired an almost mint black nickel SX90r tenor (circa mid-Nineties) and can't say enough good about the performance and sound of this wonderful instrument. To put things in perspective, I also play a 80,xxx MK VI tenor and SA 80 series III soprano. The Keilwerth SX90R b/n tenor has given me a new lease on my musical life!!! Thank you JK.

John Coltrane, Kirk Whalum, and Joshua Redman are my role models on the Tenor. I like Keilwerth's tenor saxophone. I believe soon I will be able to afford the Keilwerth SX90R or Shadow Tenor Sax.
