  • How to knit COMPLETELY JOGLESS (without the cast-on jog) REVERSIBLE/DOUBLE-SIDED twisted stitch 1x1 ribbing (TWISTED KNIT AND PURL STITCHES) in the Round from ITALIAN CAST-ON. Magic Loop.
INVISIBLE weaving in of the YARN TAILS VERTICALLY for single colour yarn without bulky columns, and HORIZONTALLY for stripes and self-striping yarn perfectly and invisibly blending in the colours.
I put together all nuances, knitting tips and tricks for the best look of the twisted stitch ribbing.
I really liked how the reversible twisted stitch ribbing looked for my sweaters and hats, but at first had a difficulty finding the best method for casting on. So that it would both look good and be very stretchy for the turtleneck in particular. Tried various different cast-ons. Decided that the Italian was my favourite. It looks good, very stretchy, and completely reversible. Then tried different ways of using it for the twisted stitch ribbing, particularly, when and how to start twisting the stitches so that both the edge and the ribbing look their best. And finally settled on the idea that I am sharing in this video.
Also, I had a question in the comments about how to weave in the yarn tails for the twisted stitch ribbing. Experimented a bit, and included all the steps in the video.
I hope you’ll find it helpful!

Why do you begin with a purl stitch and why do you slip the first purl stitch on the first row?

In my experiments, this was the best way to later completely eliminate the cast on jog, and also, after eliminating the jog, the yarn tail would end up on the wrong side of the work - easier to hide too.
