I used to see them sing on the Staten Island Ferry before they were discovered. I miss that New York. There was another group called Solo I used to see perform in the train station.

I remember back in the days of Rap City the first time I heard this song. I thought to myself what an unbelievable love song. I know a hit when I hear one. I just knew the rotation would increase, but instead it decreased. Still baffles me today. These guys can just walk up and sound amazing without any music. Street talent. I hope it is never remade be some new hotshot. This remake deserves someone that came up singing in the streets as a hustle. That way they will have the true soul needed to sing this one.

As a DJ who lived through it --- here is why I believe Force didn't get the love from us at the time! These Staten Island boys came out when Rap was bubbling and on the verge of exploding in the NYC! With Black music, the time of the Temps, 4 Tops and their ilk, just seem old and dated! It was our parents music! We didn't want the same outfits, the syncopated dance steps . . . we wanted LL and Kool Moe D, and Grandmaster coming out of the Big Apple!
We also wanted bands/artists that played their own music . . . Prince, Zapp, Cameo, Bar-Kays, etc. The MD just were just a little too late to the party in the mid 80's. But their music was good --- it just got lost in the 'Yo MTV Raps' milieu --- but the appreciation and love would eventually come years later! Which is probably why most of the boys aren't with us today!
