Arvind bhai My grandfather Ch Mallu Ram Manjhu was constable Punjab Police and posted in Ferozepur at the time of execution of Shaheed Bhagat Singh .....
He was witness to the funeral of Bhagat Singh ,Rajguru and Sukhdev on 23 March on the banks of Ravi River in Hussainiwala.
He always used to tell us about this incident when were children way back in 1980's

There was a revolution after hanging in form of Naval Mutiny, Subhash Chandra Bose created a separate movement and the whole Azad Hind Fauj Saga. Millions of unknown revolutionaries all over India were the reason that British finally left India in 1947.
Bhagat Singh and his comrades live in the hearts of every Indian, I wonder how India would have been if he had been alive post-independence.

Ishtiaq sahib Arvind ji are on the right track.I do not agree with Gandhi on many things but it would be a sacrilege to question his intentions. The British would never spare Bhagat singh unless he asked for pardon ,as they did with Savarkar.The Russian revolution was all too glaring at them.Bhagat singh is the most shining star of the Indian freedom struggle..Gandhi ji aroused and organized the people and created leaders to take charge of free India but it was the fear of Bhagat singh and Subhash Chandra Bose and the like that convinced them to quit India.

Sardar Bhagat Singh had a very thinking head, way mature for his age. He was undoubtedly influenced by Karl Marx which did not hamper/contain his nationalistic nature and national pride .They were at the core of his writings.
Bhagat Singh was an illiterate and not well read. He was not follower of Marx or communist party of India. He didn't fight for India's freedom. He fought because his father was insulted.

But the role of the Congress party in getting independence is questionable because independence of India was precipitated because of the 2nd world war and because of Indian Navy mutiny who were inspired by Subhash Chandra Bose and these two incidents led British realise that their time was up while congress party was just safety valve to let out steam or Indian masses .
