Hmmm.. Good question. I might have something about that on my channel already but I'm not sure. I can make a future video about it. Basically my personal strategy was to write down anything that pertained to answering any of the practice questions.

I recently came to a new firm and they have me working and studying at the same time. So it’s been a challenge getting quality study time vs consistent. Sometimes I’ll go days where it’s too busy to study and just work. Was tricky learning a new position as well

I career changed and took the sie and series 65. Opened my own RIA whiteout ever working for a broker. The 65 is difficult, but it is doable. Sie is easy
Hi , I am studying for the Sie and I am using Pass perfect the pass promise. I am on the last stretch and taking the practice final exams I have already taken four and I have used the methods you’ve said as far as taking the test going over the answers and understanding why that one is right and why that one is wrong … however my scores aren’t reflecting this ……any Advice on how to move forward. I am slightly overwhelmed bc I am seriously trying and I feel like it’s sort of in vain . Thanks !
Hey Shelby, Learning always feels like failing!!! All you can do is more reps. Practice those same questions over and over until you have taught yourself how to answer them correctly. Its a grind but you can do it.

As someone who used to want to get the sie, I am not sure if it still would benefit me. I am working in wealth management and getting better at excel to be an analyst. I think if anything the CFA would help down the line, I am interested in an MBA as well, was a business undergrad
The SIE is the coreq for the Series 6 and 7 licensing exams. I also work in wealth management and don’t know many people that don’t have at least a 6 and 7 (unless they’re in operations). Not having the licenses may not hurt you in your current position, but you’re severely limiting your opportunities in the future. I say take the exams if your firm is sponsoring you.

I, too, am working on a career pivot from ux content strategy to finance (I currently work for a bank) and I have an inquiry. During the 3 hour session per night, did you read multiple chapters and took practice and chapter tests OR did you read one chapter (and took a practice and chapter test) per 3 hour session?

@@mjcal96 Yeah I did both, ended up missing the SIE by like 2 questions, may have to try again next time. A lot of people said it would be a lot of regulatory questions but that wasn’t what I got, when you get a batch of 5000 random questions anything is possible :P

My professor stated in the syllabus if I pass this exam this semester, I get an automatic A in the course. I relied on this too hard, and now I have an D in the class (not very smart, I know). I take the exam in three days and I have no finance experience whatsoever, but I'm going to give blood sweat and tears so my gpa doesnt drop

100 study hours is crazy for someone who went through highschool with the "pay attention during lecture and just remember the buzzwords in the test" method lol. I just need to pass the SIE to get a higher position at my job to do things im already doing.

its easy if you know the terminology on the test that isn't available in the handbook you are supposed to study. its a joke because they want you to retake the test so they can get more money.

When work gets too busy to study during the day, you need to be making time at night! You can make it happen.

No, it is just for the U.S. And it is much much easier than the CFA.

Finance class may help with 25% - 50% of the SIE exam. But there will also be a lot of new information.

Yea that should be enough for the SIE.

None, they offer one at the place were you apply for the test. You will barely use it

Yep. I also had to learn that real studying is very different from what I did in high school.
SIE is hard if you make it hard , I passed it easily but put in the time to make it feel easy

Being slow at math definitely doesn't help in a job as a financial advisor, but it won't kill you either. Calculators are our friends!

Awful “advice”. You need to get STC or Kaplan question banks and performance tracker to see where you’re weak points are, then study those areas
