Failed in November 2023, and my studying has been very difficult to keep up with changes at work and at home. Unfortunately feeling like I should delay past March but I also worry that will just make it worse. Never been in this position before so it's tough. Thank you for the tips and helping spark a more rigid plan for myself.
I’m using Kaplan and sitting in November. I started studying in mid June. I plan to finish all the review books by September. This will rebuild and refine my foundation. Then I’ll will spend September-November grinding through the test bank and practice exams
Is the accelerated path book you mentioned "Personal Financial Planning, Theory & Practice, 12th edition?" I just finished my education requirement. However, on the series exams, I always thought that Kaplan simplified things and had practice questions that aligned better with the actual exam questions so I am considering grabbing their booklet as well.
I have taken CFP final test 2 times and i did not pass it ....plan to take it a 3rd time and knock it down for good.....the exam is quite challenging as we are going 10 miles wide and 10 miles deep....i mean you need to know the material cold and refine your test taking skills.....RTFG read the freaking question time and again and be focus / interntional ...this is from a guy who was quite close and did not make it....this video is helpful ....gives me a HOME WORK for 3 hours daily not 3 to 4 days a week....develop the tough mindset..USED ZAHAN....will look at Kaplan and decide ...plan to take exam in 2025 summer Would you guys recommend Kaplan or any other program for CFP final exam ? prep course
What is the value of a CPA if you have the CFA and CFP? I am a CA (SA) (equivalent to CPA in south africa) and am considering to emigrate to USA. But my goal is to be in the investing industry rather than compiling financials and doing accounting. So not sure if its worth it to convert my CA certification to a CPA. Are there salary benefits etc if you have it but not really using it?
the value of CPA would be speaking to small business owners as potential clients of your financial planning/wealth advisory practice, and being able to speak their language, IF they speak "accounting". it gives you tremendous credibility, helps you understand their business faster and thus accelerates your selling.
Im taking the exam in July. Honestly this thing is kicking my ass. I'm debating on a one and done. If i dont pass it, im seriously considering on throwing in the towel. I don't know if i can do this to myself again.
I passed my series 7, now I look to take a CFP exam. Can you tell me how much more difficult to study and pass the CFP compared to series7 exam? can you do a difficulty level comparison? study hours, preparation? Thank you!
Hey I’m in a similar boat you were in regards to professional experience and just finished the course for March exam. Would you recommend the Kaplan essential review package w each module’s book review and huge test bank or the premium review w all the extras?
@@crazyluke7154I’m trying to study but unfortunately not able to afford an expensive program like Kaplan at this time. I took SIE, 6, and 63 with Kaplan and passed all the first time taking the exam but my employer paid. Does Kaplan offer question banks and videos for the CFP as well? And what book do they use I might buy on eBay

If you haven't studied much more since the last exam, definitely don't take it again in March. Best of luck studying!!

@@vkplessel I’m using Danko but I used Kaplan for the education!

I don't think that's it. Its more of a review of all CFP subjects.

Best of luck!!! I liked the Kaplan accelerated path review guide.

The CPA will be beneficial if you are working on tax filings.

@robertmjohnson this makes sense thanks!
That winter beard!

Only 6 more weeks. Put in as much work as possible. You can do this.

The CFP is 30% more difficult, and probably 3x the content of the series 7. It just takes more time to study.
I passed my 7 as well and the CFP is significantly harder. Taxes, Estate Planning, Insurance. None of that stuff was on the 7.
What program are you using? I’m trying to get a cheaper alternative
@@angellistheshit I used the Brett Danko exam prep and I passed on my first attempt on July 10th. I recommend Danko, his program was excellent.
Try becoming a credentialed actuary....these exams are relatively easy in comparison.

Whichever is cheaper and more condensed!
I am doing the kaplan review course and it is alright...If you are book smart that course is the one for you.

Where are the practice questions on the CFPs webstie? Can anyone tell me
Sorry I don't know specifically. But you have to be registered as a participant.
Someone with 20 years of experience may find sitting a 3hr exam uncomfortable because they haven't done it in years.
Did you use Dalton or Kaplan, and would you recommend one over the other?
Kaplan. I liked Kaplan, would recommend.
I rented a cane and a top hat and it did not help me pass. . .
Well good try anyway.
you definitely had me until cane and top hat 🤣
Don't forget several resumes to handout.
Good information but the cane and top hat??!!! LOL!! 🫶
LOL
Not sure how you kept a straight face when suggesting the cane and top hat
You numb from one place to another so quick
Get kaplan!
Study - 3 hours block every
Do practice questions
"Is the CFP degree really helpful? I want to know if anyone is currently working in a CFP-related position, their experience, and their salary."
I would say that its moderately helpful.
March 2025!!
Best of luck!!!
