I JUST noticed now that Stormcry has Benedikta's belt over the crossguard. That's such a cool detail. Considering how much the camera loved looking at her hips, I'm shocked I didn't notice sooner.
Excalibur, Masamune, Ragnarok, and Ultima were always my go to swords through the entire Final Fantasy series. Even ones more powerful than them that are game specific like gotterdammerung
The weapons have more atk when crafted in NG+. So you will basically start going through them again, but now with Ultima being the last unlocked weapon. So it won't have as much, but it will be a lot closer than its first playthrough variant
@@Gwynbleidd_117 Only FF difficulty. If you choose the previous game, it will just be the same game with level capped at 50. FF difficulty makes it so you can go to 100 and there will be harder enemies earlier into the game.
Well if you look at Ultima...in the game the weapon look like that kind of ...make sense. well some sword look Neat than Ultima NGL but still Ultima is Ultima lol.
to me, the weapon system was a massive disapointment. where's the save the queen/save the king excalibur actually being unique with passive effects? why cant they have unique traits kinda like KH2 or even go all out like X's equipment crafting system.
Ive stuck with the Buster Sword. Once ff7 rebirth was done. I made a start on this game was glad to get the dlc and behold buster sword was given. Will use that till the attack levels starts going up.
It’s a shame we only got to use invictus for a brief period before it quickly got outclassed since it’s his signature weapon. True for all weapons really
Kind of weird that swords are strictly a linear power creep with no way to customize the visuals. I love katanas, so I'm super sad to see Masamune get power crept. Same for levinbolt. Always glamoured most of my weapons to ramuh weapons in FF16.
that's what i dont get! why didnt they do a FFX style weapon "crafting", or at the very least go the same style as KH2. this was by far the most disapointing aspect of the game for me, that and how long the cooldowns are.
It's how the majority of the FF games were with the weapons, it shouldn't really be much of a surprise. In almost every FF game you replace the weapon you have currently with a better one the farther you get into the main story to eventually getting the games 'ultimate' weapon whether that was the Ragnarok in FF4, the Ultima weapon in FF7, the Caladbolg in FF10 etc.
@@izumolee6714 gonna call bullshite on that one mate. aside from maybe the first couple games, pretty much every series have weapons be more than stat sticks. many have side abilities. from auto haste, auto protect and so on. you will be hard pressed to find a final fantasy game with a blood sword that doesnt have life steal effect on it. to say they were like this is a gross mistake. sure, their damage were tiered. but damage was not the only thing most of them had. compare it to XII for example, where people make builds based on the equipment the class can use. or X with no damage stat at all on weapons, instead you have ability slots that let you "craft" effects on them. the only ff i can point that had a similar boring equipment system was 8, but even then, it was a crafting system that was far more interesting than XVI.
@@marcosdheleno Which is why the eikon abilities exist. These skills are essentially the side abilities that are present in other games. Your weapon simply determines how strong these skills damage the enemy. Again its no different than any other game, just cause it appears more streamlined. But the point is weapons in FF has always been stat sticks & its the systems around them that determines how you use them.
@@izumolee6714 no they arent. im not talking about magic or skills, im talking weapon abilities. i feel like you have never played a FF game before. understand this, in most FF games there are alot of weapons with added effect. bloodsword has life leech, excalibur often has auto-haste, save the queen/king has auto-protect/shell. those are passive abilities. gaia robes absorb earth element, dark robes absorb dark element, rubber suit makes you immune to lightning. XVI has nothing like this, at most it has the acc which are absurdly bland MMO crap.
Excalibur is my favorite design from the weapons of this game. As easily as I could believe it was drawn from a stone, I could also believe that it was forged in the fires of Old Valyria, or remade from the shards of Narsil. It just has this beautiful simplicity to it, total S tier design for me!
All great designs. No love for the Blood Sword? I've always liked the concept of a weapon that drains HP from the enemy to replenish the wielder. Sucks they didnt do that in 16.
I’m Only up to after beating Odin and the best looking weapons so far are Excalibur, Diamond sword and Ragnarok. Excalibur would be the best if the sheathe fit it better
You forgot the BLOOD SWORD that came with the collectors edition. Also changing the appearance of a sword to look like any sword that you already have like in ASSASSIN'S CREED VALHALLA would be great.
My understanding is that these are dmg values based on your initial playthrough while ultima is only obtainable near the end of ng+. So the upgraded ones in ng+ would be close to ultima's dmg
to me, the worst part is how the weapons are just stat sticks. there's no haste or protect effect on them, just plain X damage. why couldnt we get something like kh2 or better yet, give us FFX crafting. that would also give a reason to farm certain enemies, as their drops could be used to get passive effects on those weapons.
@marcosdheleno no status aliments, hardly any spells, why do the spells only go to 2 tier?(blizzera and not blizzaga), it's missing so much rpg elements and the gear is small attack boost compared to the previous weapon smh boring af.

I'm struggling to see how Gotterdammerung looks different from Ragnarok. Is it just longer and shinier? I was expecting a more dramatic change to its appearance.
I am not that far into the game yet, but would really like to see by end game there is a way to make all sword have equal power, which I can just choose a sword based on design itself.
Btw 28 is so few , like in other ff games there is so much vast options , and weapons the have bonuses and effects , like Excalibur having a ring possibility to cast holy and many more things, for this specific thing fa 16 is so disappointing btw (and I love this game very much)

Really disappointing Ragnarok and Gotter look the same esp bc that’s the best weapon in the base game most won’t play FF mode to unlock Ultima Weapon. If there’s a difference I don’t see it. Regardless Gotter looks so much cooler than Ultima, was hoping that would look significantly better. I hope that with an update there’s weapon transmog, there’s really never a reason to go back on a weapon and just go with the highest stat in this game. I also didn’t like how each of the Eikon drop weapons upgraded upon each other so you “lose” each one as you progressed
Again they didn't come up with realistic way to carry a sword on your back I saw video about a guy who came up with scabbard that mostly covers the blade and has a slit on side that let you take the sword out quickly put it away quickly and makes sure it doesn't run risk of the blade cutting the back of your legs while moving,

fortunately you can do broken enough builds to where you can just run any sword you want and not feel like its a huge disadvantage. Im going to do NG+ just with invictus

Worrying signal that gives to publishers, can expect alot more dumbed down mechanics and more casual games in our future now sadly
@Insultedyeti712 yeh the difference is you don't control only cloud, the options come from mixing and matching materia/weapons/accessories (in 7) with various party combinations to create good strategy for the enamy types your facing ... That is what's missing, the strategy and planning involved with new gear, the basic things that make the game an RPG

i have absolutely no problems with how they look, my biggest problem is how they function. they are literal stat sticks. devoid of any personality. this is the most boring design possible, and there's no reason to do that. specially compared to something like VII remake who not only gave each weapon its own upgrade system, it also contain a mastery skill that makes you want to play with them all. hell, even kingdom hearts 2 fixed that by adding abilities to the keyblades instead of simple stats, making them each fit more of a role than just used this because its stronger. even KH 1 had other aspects to them like attack speed vs reach. to me, the accessories should've been part of the weapons, kinda like X, with its weapon crafting, maybe have accs do other things, like in VII remake as well.
We need weapon transmog. I just wanna use Invictus always.

it gives you kupka's shard early, you don't get to craft it till a little bit later.
