Have had BV400 for 2 years. Excellent touring bike. Good suspension and very stable at highway speeds. Build quality and reliability also top notch.

Got a BV400 last spring after watching your review & few others, but yours had bedt overall info! Super comfy & I'm 5'4", and she's a beast compared to my 150cc Vespa 946 & love both, but BV400 is go-to for hillier terrain or higher traffic freeways. Opted to get a waterproof pack to strap across the back of the seat for trips. And one reason I opted for BV400 instead of a Vespa 300 is the gas filler is as at your feet, so don't have to mess with opening up the seat to fill the tank. I just ordered a larger windscreen with hand protection & will be installing"shorty" levers, so easier for my smaller hands to reach & more likely to go out when need heavier winter gloves!

Recently bought a Bv400 to replace my heritage softail. Put on a Faco windshield for better protection. I plan on doing 400 mile solo trips across the Sierra's into central California. The Bv will do just fine. Will be placing a backrest expandable bag between me and the luggage rack topcase. Will be able to bring as much as I could with the harley (which was always too much crap). BV has plenty of power, cruises 75 no problem. My days flying down interstates at 85 mph are done.

Would the exhaust note on the Piaggio be quieter than the Versys? What are each bike's top speed?

    • @PeterLoweOne

Actually the Versys is very quiet. They have a different sound, but neither one is noisy. I'd have to check the top speed. I would assume that the Versys has a higher overall top speed. Each will have useable power up to and just beyond legal highway speeds. On something like the Versys in particular, it will continue to build speed until top speed, but it will be a slower build. Some scooters have an artificially limited top speed, so I'm not sure if the BV 400 has that.

Got a BV350 which is very similar to the 400. I have been driving many tours and it is great for this. It's a great allrounder

I never put prices on my videos because they can change, and these videos are up forever. If you use the link in the description of the video, you can go to Jim Gilbert's Wheels and Deals where they'll have prices of everything in stock, or you can check the manufacturers websites for up to date pricing.
