We have a border terrier like yours, 5 years old named George. He is the most sweetest natured dog, loves humans and licks them to bits. He is very intelligent, full of energy. Naughty off the lead as he puts his nose down and is off. BT’s can be stubborn and head strong, but are very trainable and full of fun. Train Finnigan from the beginning, take him to puppy club to get use to other dogs and to make him sociable, keep him amused not bored and he will be part of your family. A truly loveable breed. Enjoy Finnigans company and you will never regret having him as a family member
Thanks for the tips! He was the perfect mix for us based on our range of criteria, but we couldn’t be happier with little Finn. Training with the puppy class starts next week!

Lovely pup. You clearly made a great choice & the fact the litter is SLEM clear. Our 3rd Border Terrorist is 4 years now. We have had one of 17yrs & our last 15yrs. This one is very scent driven & is not trusted offlead despite of training. You'll learn about Border Terrier time too.😊 You are going to have so much fun with your new Pup. Xx
I love the “Border Terrorist” title. It’s so fitting! 🤣😅 He’s absolutely stolen our hearts and is doing remarkably well with training. We hope we’re as lucky as you to get 15 and 17 wonderful years with him!
If you keep abruptly changing foods the pup is going to have the runs. It will subside over time. You can put about a tablespoon of pureed pumpkin in each meal and that helps curb the runs and it also curbs constipation. Deworming a dog can also cause the tummy issues. He's adorable! Congrats

As a true terrier fan (Scotties and Irish Terriers), I would say you chose well. Terriers are smart but independent thinkers, as they were expected to do their jobs on the farms without instruction. A phrase we often used was, "He's well trained, for a terrier." You are in for a wild and wonderful ride, and I'm a wee bit jealous. He will be such a good companion on your outings, and remember: a good terrier is a tired terrier!
We had a BT 'Ella' when my son was born she would never leave his side. When he slept she would sleep on the floor by the cot and when he started potty training she would sit at the toilet door and not let anyone in, miss that little bundle of loyalty.
We have a 10 year old Border Terrier and he has been great, they are very stubborn, you'll find that out! But great family dogs, happy to be active and good around the house. Have fun, Finn is very cute.
Hello 😊 Your new puppy, Finnegan, ist just so cute and adorable. I loved to hear how you decided on his breed. You put so much thoughts into it. And i had so much joy watching the journey and all the moments with him. That he still had some worms is a hiccup but can thankfully be treated easily. And soon enough you gonna go to puppy school. He is gonna be such a well-behaved boy. But i am still looking foward to all the mischief. 😄 You gonna have so much fun with this little guy. Sending warm hugs from Germany ❤️☀️❤☀️❤☀️
@@SimpleScottishLiving Oh yes, i totally get it. I grew up with all kinds of pets.. dogs, cats, birds, some reptiles. And our family still loves to have pets. All the best to both human beans and puppy love to you all. I think that the mental stimulation will be as we Glaswegians say “Pure Mental”. All the very best to you and yours. Rab
Welcome to the border terrier owners club, I have a 3yo wee grizzle and tan lass. Awesome wee dogs, great with people/kids and love the outdoors! Get the training in, they are very smart but need a bit of structure and good socialisation (not just meeting every dog they see). Enjoy the puppy stage, they are wee nutters so enjoy the chaos.
Encourage him to go out to toilet a lot - he maybe stressed just leaving his mummy giving him tummy problems - the food the vet has given you is great ! I use this when my pooch has upset tummy
aawh, Finnegan is such a cutie😍Border Terriers are great little guard dogs too! They will often alert you when someone walks up to the door. I always say ''they are big dogs in small bodies'' 🤣

I'm currently walking a neighbour's dog while they're on vacation. We have 4 cats, all rescues. Looking forward to all the adventures with Finn, give him a hug from me xx
We love cats too, but I’m allergic to most unfortunately! Still remember waking up back in my teen years with a swollen face and missing school because the family cat had found her way into my bed 😂
@@SimpleScottishLiving Oh no, a couple of my friends are allergic too. Great that your children will grow up with Finn, he will be their best friend. xx
Lots of luck with Finnigan. He’s a cutie for sure. I am pro Adopt Don’t Shop but I am also very well aware of the many restrictions placed on adopting. Sooo I say, Finn hit the jackpot with you & your family.
Thank you! Yes, we tried to adopt first, but having a toddler made it quite impossible. We’ll definitely go that route if we get another dog down the line when the kids are older :)
Yip that's family life complete now with a wee duggy in the hoose , the kids will be soo happy with a wee bundle of mischief running about the hoose , good luck with the chewing 😂
Great you got your puppy! Id expect the breeder to treat your dog for worms before you picked up! My dog is a vizlar, she is great with babies, toddlers, good in house, good with our chickens! We wanted a dog that had a great temperament, good with dogs, sleeps alot off the day, likes a walk, morning & afernoon, comes everywhere with us!! We trained our dog ourselves, she learned sit, down, stay, paw ,close, recail to whistle in a week 😊
He is an adorable wee puppy. The worms is quite a common issue, I'm sure you will have many fun walks out with the dog for sure,t hey absolutely love the outdoors. Grew up with them myself, it's what got me into pet photography as I know what loving wee creatures they really are and they become such a big part of the family. 🤎
Had to go to our old neck of the woods to get your dog, Weardale. We lost our Boxer dog a couple of years ago & a Border Terrier is top of my wife’s list if we ever get another, there’s even a breeder here on Vancouver Island.
The Boarder Terrier is a really good choice, knowing a bit about where you are I always liked the beach at Gullane when visiting my aunt there down the years, we had Cairn Terriers and it was always a great beach to take them to.
You should get a little pet cam. They’re really expensive with Amazon. That way when you’re not home you can watch him. I know he’ll likely be in the crate, but you can still see him if he looks depressed or happy or what
A dog makes a house a home is a phrase my Auntie Anne used to say, and I definitely think it helps! congrats on the new puppy, you guys will give him a good new home. the toilet training may be rough and its work in general but itll be worth it in the end. My commiserations about having to go to England though.
Great name for a lovely pup! So funny when you said you had to go into enemy territory 😂 I say the same being Welsh, especially when it comes to rugby! 😂😂
Great video, it was very helpful! My kids want a dog, but we have to wait until we relocate to Jamaica. My twin boys were volunteering on a farm and now want chickens and goats too. Luckily, there's plenty of space since my mom has 13 acres of land.
Don't know if you've been over before, but head up the the East Neuk. Places like Ainster, Pittenweem and St Monans will blow your mind - and make great content for viewers from further afield 😉
Your breeder should have wormed him before you got him I had to go to England to get my poodle puppy - she’s 7 months now and WILD. Best tip learn him to sit for everything and give him a treat - I use chopped up apples - I had flora off lead at 9 weeks using this method - enjoy. Puppies are fabulous
@@elainemackie1431 Good tips! He was dewormed by the breeder, but the vet informed us that it doesn’t always work for a number of reasons. He’s seeming much better though!
@@SimpleScottishLiving brilliant. You’ll have such fun with him. We call them the Andy Murray dogs as Andy has 2 I think. I live in the central belt and there’s lots here 😊

Great that your children will grow up with Finn, he will be their best friend. xx
@@sandramitchell2719 We hope so!!
😅🤣
The puppy is very cute. Do you have any names for the puppy?
Thank you! Yes, this is Finnegan and he's a regular fixture on our videos 😊
Awe, she sounds like a lovely dog! We hope Finn has those same traits ❤️
Thanks for the lovely video
He is an adorable wee puppy. The worms is quite a common issue, I'm sure you will have many fun walks out with the dog for sure,t hey absolutely love the outdoors. Grew up with them myself, it's what got me into pet photography as I know what loving wee creatures they really are and they become such a big part of the family. 🤎
@@scottcjmckelviephotography Awe, thanks for sharing! They do seem like such happy little things ☺️
Had to go to our old neck of the woods to get your dog, Weardale. We lost our Boxer dog a couple of years ago & a Border Terrier is top of my wife’s list if we ever get another, there’s even a breeder here on Vancouver Island.
Sounds like an easy decision 😉
Awe puppy fin adorable 💖
☺️❤️
The Boarder Terrier is a really good choice, knowing a bit about where you are I always liked the beach at Gullane when visiting my aunt there down the years, we had Cairn Terriers and it was always a great beach to take them to.
Gullane is lovely!
as a Westie owner i am a big fan of the terrier choice. Great wee dogs. No pet hair everywhere either which is a nice side bonus.
Hope you enjoyed your time in England Zak and Annie my neck of the woods bishop auckland loving your vlogs❤❤❤❤
Lovely area! Thanks for watching ❤️
You should get a little pet cam. They’re really expensive with Amazon. That way when you’re not home you can watch him. I know he’ll likely be in the crate, but you can still see him if he looks depressed or happy or what
We will!
Welcome baby Finn Borders are such lovely terriers , their not so crazy or boisterous make wonderful family members Sharyn and Rosie in NZ ❤
They seem to be the perfect family dog!
Cute pup! 😎
Thank you! 😊
A dog makes a house a home is a phrase my Auntie Anne used to say, and I definitely think it helps! congrats on the new puppy, you guys will give him a good new home. the toilet training may be rough and its work in general but itll be worth it in the end. My commiserations about having to go to England though.
I like that saying!
Wow, what could be done with 13 acres. That’s incredible! Hope you get the perfect pup one day ❤️
Don't know if you've been over before, but head up the the East Neuk. Places like Ainster, Pittenweem and St Monans will blow your mind - and make great content for viewers from further afield 😉
We’ve not been there! Adding to the list!
I live in the central belt and there’s lots here 😊
I wish the other one could have gone too. I just couldn’t go to a place where there are two puppies and leave one behind 😓 I can’t deal with that. But seeing him go to good ppl is always nice to see.
We felt the same way, but fortunately, the breeder had someone lined up to view the next puppy right after!
@@SimpleScottishLiving Aww that’s good to know. I hope it has the same luck and a great life. Maybe they’ll meet on a walk one day 😅
I buy the purina pro plan range for my two Ragdoll girls! They love it! Only thing that settles their stomachs. Seriously, nothing compares! I’ve tried every single brand! Love your videos guys x
Thank you!
Hi I love your videos Just curious, in the opening introduction of each video you are both standing on a bridge with stone houses behind you, where is that? Love the new puppy!!
That's the gorgeous Dean Village in Edinburgh. It's definitely a sight worth seeing as well as Stockbridge. We had dinner at Pepe Nero (Italian restaurant) not too far from there and our taste buds were rocked. Highly recommend all of the above!
The luckiest pup in the known world.
Aww, love your puppy, I've just got a puppy aswell x
@@shirleyburnham2782 Thank you! What kind did you get?!
They do say NEW HOUSE, NEW BABY ! 🎉
😂
