This song becomes more helarious when you pay attention to Grulovia's history when you get snippits of it before the revolution.
It's like someone tried to construct the russian empire out of meth labs, slave mines, and failing soviet farms.

On another note, how the “ride” goes out of its way to mention how “lawful and rightful” gristol’s ascension to the throne was going to be. Is it just me or does that scream “I was planning on murdering the bastard so I could become gzar immediately”.
I mean it makes sense, though it should be noted that usually the transitions from monarch to prince tend to be peaceful and seldom result in such skullduggery...unless more than one claimant exists for the throne...or as you note, general impatience(I mean look at the Queen of England for Gods sakes)
Course it maybe also that, outside of being the "true" ruler, he has nothing else really to himself outside of a obsession for caviar. Take that away, and he has nothing else to define who he is.
At the very least it screams "I couldn't wait for the bastard to croak!"

I was thinking it was just kind of dull, but I suppose it can be pretty eerie with the dark voids and those animatronics (especially the Loboto one) bobbing around.

Funny enough my opinion of Nick changed a bit when I saw both his memory reels. I saw the 2nd one 1st when I made my comment. Didn't see the 1st one where his life was saved and why he had hero worship because of it to the point where he was ok with her accidentally drowning tons of innocent people.

Oh yeah, this is far more nightmare inducing than the original meat circus theme. Because the meat circus theme is just the Aquato family theme now. This is the inner monologe of someone with a dark triad personality disorder. It's actually deeply frightening to see a represention of how a sociopath/narcissist absorbs experiences in a bubble and twists them on their favor. Although it's in a cartoony manner. I'm glad Double Fine went there as part of the final act. Dark triad personalities are the most dangerous. Serial killers are among them.
So how many of them are world leaders?

I love how the young gzar has a different perspective of Grulovia.
This city was actually ruled by a tyrannic person who let his people die of starvation and other problems. Maligula was supposed to shut the protestors by putting rain on them, but she accidentally flooded the street and kill her sister, causing her to lost her mind and become a cruel person.
This guy was too young to see what's going on and doesn't really care, mostly enjoying his spoiled life. But when he runs out of Caviar, his favorite dish, he got so mad that he decided to rebuild Grulovia (his little paradise) without realizing that Maligula had changed and become a sadistic monster.
By the way, that is so funny to see how huge their crowns are. It look like a chandelier (of course, that is a representation of how egocentric this family was... Mostly the father).
I hate every moment of this ride.
All this villain wants is just his fish eggs.

The typical view of somebody that grew up surrounded by riches and. Privileges and Only Knows their view of the world and doesn't understand people that there are that are supposed to be taken care of by their family is suffering.

One thing that PN2 did the better job than the 1st game is how they made the mastermind really hate-able.
This stage just show how much he being delusional narcissistic self centered a-hole dictator make me really want to punching him.

Even if they literally have it spelled out in the subtitles, I am pretty sure the choir doesn't sing "drowning in" but rather "drown in". 🤔

You know I thought it was weird the car just floats, but honestly considering this mans logic, I wouldn't be surprised if it's meant to show that hes following some serious "magic thinking." The animatronics and all fit the propaganda narriative, but it should be noted that outside of some choice bits, it seems like he regards his family as little more than props to his own ego.
Also, destroying the music for this level makes this place rather off putting.

@@LetruneInedil well ok, I don't know about the medical term but someone who always had everyone bow to him making him think he's superior to all the others and wishing a crazy murdering psychic to restore this doesn't sound like an "average sane" person to me. He might not be unstable like Compton Boole or Bob Zanotto but he's not sane in my eyes.

Well considering Augustus looked probably between 15-17 when Cruller united him with Lucy, given that Dion is around 16-17 and we can assume Dion was born when Augustus was at least 18, and Lucy and Marona look similar in age with Lucy looking a bit older and assuming Marona was at least 33 when she died, again assuming Augustus was born when Marona was at least 18, that puts Lucy's age somewhere between 55-60 I'd say. And again, this is at minimum assumptions for when Augustus was born, if Marona had Augustus when she was 25 then that puts Lucy closer to 64-68.

Favorite part of this level was finding the music players and smashing them to turn it off, with raz letting out a relieved sigh.
The crazy thing is, this isn’t like someone else’s mind in the game where it’s messed up from emotional trauma or something else, he is literally just INSANE which is just….Hooof
