It's weird to hear you talk about the chocolate being more for grown ups. In Germany they are typical as a little gift for kids. But we also eat "good" chocolate as normal chocolate so I guess we just have different sweets cultures.
Yes, from my experience with kids I know here in the US they tend to like the “not so good” Chocolate more. Snicker bars, m&m’s, Twix etc. The Lindt, Kinders, Ritter sports are usually the last ones left in the bowl. I’m not sure why because in my opinion they taste the best. I think it’s an American thing, and the type of chocolate/candy we introduce to them when they are young. My husband’s family is German and they introduced me to the best chocolate I’ve ever had. I’m teaching my daughter the difference, too! 🤗🤗
