    I usually hate lists but fair play, i cant argue with much here. Great call with Ian Roberts , he was a rangy 242 pounds of anger. Cement Gillespie chopped off a finger rather than let it slowly heal and miss a big game. He would be my no.1 on that alone, add in the year where the doggies would sneak in fibreglass shoulder pads ( ice hockey ones) and he would have been murder to play against.

    Matai by far. Timing is everything and size to outcome, yea he hit as if 3x bigger than he was. And then 2 would be myself but I never made rep teams. Too little too late lol

    Matai and Tafua deserve the top 2 spots. I am a Storm fan and hate Manly but the shot Tafua put on Munster at Brookvale in 2019 was a pearler. Kind of disappointed there's no love for Alan Tongue in this list.

    • @zabaleta66
      @zabaleta66 3 года назад +2

      That was just the worst of Gillespie. Normally he was a clean hard hitter who would cut much bigger guys in half! He rarely topped tackle counts because opposition players would avoid running towards him or pass well before contact.

    • @jimk9701
      @jimk9701 3 года назад

      yeah pretty much,.. when I was kid growing up in the 60's, we were taught how to coat hang the opposition plus spear tackle.. games changed for the better over the decades.

    Giving away penalties and a team down a man for being sent off for the rest of a game,...
