As a fan of the Isle of Wight railway system, I quite like the NSE Class 03. By sheer coincidence I saw a second-hand one on Hattons and couldn't resist picking her up. Incidentally there are some old shunters here in New Zealand that strongly resemble the Class 03, namely the Drewry-built 'DS' and 'DSA' classes.
Hi Jenny. Loved your collection of shunters, especially the 03 and 04's. Having had 2 of the old Bachmann models, I'd agree the performance is um, lacking! B.t.w, if anyone wants to see some real ones, take a trip to Mangapps Farm railway in Essex, they have half a dozen, including 2 of the Wisbech tram version..
UK shunters are not my strong point, just keeping up with the variety of shunters/switchers here in US railroad history and present is quite a task, but I will say there are some nice looking locomotives in there. My favorites are; 03179, D9545, Janus appeals to my liking for centercabs, and theSentinel types. _(of course that my initials are SW is not the least bit connected to my favorite US shunters being Electro-Motive's SW type, nope, no connection whatsoever)_ Those short wheelbase Sentinels are prime candidates for conversion to On30 or Gn15.
Always loved the 03, have the chassis down for a 5 inch gauge 03
008 all the way for me. What i used to see as a boy at my local station in the 70's.
Loved this - put everything into perspective. Thanks Jenny!
Hi Jenny 👍 I really enjoyed that and have learnt a bit about the Sentinels that I never knew before so thank you for that.
Keep safe and well
Andy
Wonderful video

No Tri-ang/Hornby Dock Shunter? Maybe you're not old enough to remember, but always a love/hate relationship in the early 1970s

What's a stay-alive?
The thumbnail is literally a shunter yard.
