This and Reading Rainbow made me so proud to read! It makes me sad to see some people make fun of others for reading a lot. I will just never understand how people could belittle such useful skills. I love reading because it's like a movie in my head where my imagination is limitless and I have the perfect cast in mind lol.
+MisterPringle Thanks to Wishbone, I gained an early love for the classics in grade school. Back then, I was able to read the works of Shakespeare...and I was only in 4th Grade
Reading Rainbow, Wishbone, and Between the Lions made me love books as a kid. With I was in middle school/high school I hated reading. Probably because the books we were forced to read. For a while I got away from not reading any books. But now I’m enjoying reading books again now that I’ve been out of school.

I never really liked it because I couldn't watch what I wanted to watch because the other kids wanted to watch Wishbone. haha lol. But now I appreciate it.
Whatever happened to these great kid shows?!? Those were the days. I miss being a little kid. The days when phones and computers weren't important to kids.
This is why I'm staying childfree, because I don't want any kids I might end having feel humiliated by being called an "old fogey in a kid's body" for being raised strictly on what the child's parents grew up with!
Michael Looney Yeah I watched the new Arthur shows recently, *Note I'm 27 and grew up from that glorious decade of epic TV shows, the magic is gone in the new episodes...and yet somehow the kids are still stuck in Ratburn's class... 😂

Wishbone, one of THE greatest shows EVER. It was educational, most of the books this show covered I eventually had to read in high school, like Pride and Prejudice, and thinking back to Wishbone helped me so much. It was hilarious (too many moments to list). It was one of the first things to scare me, we all know the episode in which I'm referring. Plus it was a 90s show. All in all, great show and I wish there were more TV shows like it on today with the same quality. Thank you if you read this far.
This is why I feel jealous for not gaining further interest in this show other than the intro. I was more of a math and science geek, which is ironically the other way around for many others.
Recently I've started spending time with the family dog by sitting down & watching Wishbone. And you know what, it works. Our dog actually sits down & watches as well as barks a few times when Wishbone is on the screen. Wishbone brings us together.
PBS doesn't make shows this good anymore, at least not those regarding books. Wishbone was my favorite show as a kid, and it helped me learn about classic literature. I had never heard of Jekyll and Hyde or Hound of the Baskervilles until I watched this little dog reinact these stories! R.I.P. Wishbone. You were one awesome doggie!
