I'm a graphic designer (dedicated to activities far from my profession), an amateur to invent things, as well as to write stories and fantasize with my children, just for the fun of it.
This comment is about it:
My daughter (5 years old) and I have a hobby. We create characters modeled in felt. And we want to go a step further: stop-motion.
I have deeply investigated the subject and I feel fully capable, if we have some basic equipment.
One of these equipment is a set of rails that carry the camera throw the scenario, thanks to the action of stepper motors controlled by Arduino. With this device, camera work is greatly simplified by combining it with specialized stop-motion recording software, such as DragonFrame.
The point is that our budget is limited and we need to start with something small and cheap to try. Subsequently, it will not be difficult to scale the experience.
I have basic knowledge about Arduino and a lot of creativity.
I would greatly appreciate any advice on this, as well as electrical diagrams, program for Arduino, etc.

TecH BoyS ToyS you in the wrong industry haha. Do what you love, you'll never work a day in your life. You should come over to the dark side.....of Computer Science, well Electrical Engineering and Computer Science or EECS (it's much easier to understand with an electrical background, everything really clicks and you really have a much deeper understanding of it all)
The dropout rate in engineering, especially in regard to fields that require an extremely broad spectrum of fields of study that are all interconnected, thinking holistically of course, is by no means easy.....
If you have a passion for technology and are the type of person to want to create and customize what you use at home or in work and find pleasure expressing your creativity in technological projects.....You should really.....like really switch your focus to technology 100%. I was in Criminal Justice initially, then Mechanical Engineering, then got introduced to software development, 3D printing, robotics, and CNC Automation......I'm hooked and it is a BLAST! I make money doing what I would do.....FOR FREE! Like people pay me to build crazy gaming computers, people pay me to build 3D printers, people pay me to make another project that I already worked on and all my friends are now huge geeks and it is GREAT haha. With automation, software programming, quantum physics allowing for quantum communication (just legitimately proved in public press release yesterday from [Scientists at the University of Geneva (UNIGE), Switzerland]....and the advancement of deep neural networks and reinforcement learning.....it is such an exciting time to be in computer science, and the need....and near future need for people with those skills considering IOT, 3D printing, and AI in general make up three SEPARATE twenty billion dollar industries still in their infancy....dude....follow your passion before it's too late :) it'll be so rewarding!
vir kaan Idk what you mean by fresher, but EECS and IOT are not the wrong areas. Granted you might be at the wrong company, you are not in the wrong field though, just be fully aware of AI (in general and specific to IOT development) as it begins to invade the IOT space, it's already here, again still in its infancy. I would suggest staying near Android development as well, Android holds 85% of the global mobile operating system market, Microsoft just pulled the plug on their Windows phone OS, so Android is only going to increase and there aren't enough developers as it is. Android is fantastic to develop, not easy, but rewarding and is Open-Source software development. Companies are always looking for new apps, and IOT and Android development should go hand in hand...if I can connect it to my phone, I'll use it more, like the Google home...perfect for Android lovers.
The important thing to remember with IOT is that you might be working at a company and some nerd in their room could create something that makes the product you're working on (as an employee of a stubborn company more concerned about money than innovative technological advancements, hardware optimization (very important), and UI improvements, etc)...making your company's product irrelevant. The only difficult, yet humbling, problem with IOT and technology in general is the fact that there are always a product or company that will make what you work on irrelevant or obsolete, you cannot be sentimental with technology, copy what Google or GoogleX does with ambitious projects.
IOT is interesting because it hasn't even gotten started yet, I have a strange suspicion that you'll be required, if not now....soon, to be proficient in tailoring open-source artificial intelligence for specific needs for purpose built devices, or creating apps (or support) for wearables, or whatever. There is a LOT of room to grow in IOT especially in commercial applications, "Industry 4.0" and developing areas, since devices can be to small and low power. Stay close to Android, Additive Manufacturing, AI, and anything to do with programming and you'll do well, just make sure you have fun with it, if you enjoy it as a hobby...you'll leapfrog over other employees real quick. Make sure to do it on the side! It say stick it out, or change applications, programming language or software...or both, or you're at the Wrong company. I find more self educated individuals in software development than nearly anywhere else! :)
