Mike smith, aka “bubbles” is extremely talented. Nobody really sees his dedicated acts, he’s actually very intelligent and plays character even when he’s not supposed to. He’s the REAL link in the chain

Ricky's character has changed so much since the golden years (S3,4,5,6).
In tv interviews and podcasts he loses his ability to come out with Rickyisms but in S8&9 he does it way too much. It's like he suddenly realised he was doing something great without having to try and now that he is trying it's just weak.
He didn’t “suddenly realize he was doing something great,” he was reading the lines he was given. The show is way more scripted and less improved than you might think. He doesn’t say them in interviews and stuff because it’s extremely hard to come up with rickyisms that are not only funny, but also believable that someone could fuck that up, especially on the fly.
