    Great hack! It works!
    After trying many methods including:
    percolator,
    drip coffee maker,
    cowboy style boiling,
dumping coffee into cup of 208F water-then steeping and straining,
    over-cup drip,
    pour-over/carafe,
    French press,
    tea infuser,
Now my fave simple way is with a flat bottom metal tea strainer basket suspended in the cup, put in ground coffee and pour boiling water over then allow to steep 5mins, remove strainer and enjoy. Cleanup is simply dumping the grounds and rinsing out the strainer for next time. Smooth, no bitterness, bright, with almost chocolate-like finish/after taste,

How long did you leave the tea infuser in for?
I have a reusable k cup pod that I cannot find for the life of me but I have a tea infuser on hand I’m desperately willing to try but I don’t want to over steep my coffee.
    Thanks in advance!

I left the tea infuser in hot water for 10 minutes. If you coarse-grind your coffee beans, you'll be okay; you won't over-extract it. Once, I made French press coffee with extra-fine ground coffee. Not only did it explode all over the kitchen when I pressed it, but it was also bitter as hell.
      Good luck!
