Vin Scully was so good. He had things to say about Jack Fimple. All other announcers would be talking about the umpire or what they had for lunch.

After several odd scenes (where else but LA) during the anthem, Tug mugs for camera then @ 4:09 it's
actor/director Betty Thomas (Hill St. Blues then) either yawning or singing.
Joe Morgan giving an early audition for future TV work.
Vin & Joe doing a great job as usual...

I love those road powder blue unis that lots of teams wore back in the 80's. Especially Philly's P and the baseball

Fernando was a great competitor. Again without his best stuff, yet again won on the big stage - the Dodgers' only win this NLCS - reaching the 9th inning. And one more thing: the team played better behind his aura of self-confidence. And that is a priceless intangible. Love Garagiola, but he really sold Fernando short all game in what was a great gutsy victory.

Would the Braves won the west if Horner doesn't break his wrist ? A great divisional race. The weeze kids one last gasp. Loved 80's baseball.

Baseball when it was fun to watch with out all of the overpaid injury prone no pitchers worrying about pitch counts could you imagine bob gibson coming out of a game after 100 pitches ? I sure would hate to be the manager that had to take him out that is like saying pete we are gonna take you out of the line out. Cause we think you ran enough steps your step count went over 1000 !

You're right about Gibson. McArver went to have a chat with Gibson to remind him a runner was on first base. Bob said, "I know there's a runner on first. I Put him there. The only thing you can tell me about pitching is that it's hard to hit." lol

I agree. Well, back then, they were real men that played the game. Now, the way they wear their uniform shows a total disrespect not just for the uniform, but for themselves. No class, illiterate bums!

Mike Marshall was a minor league mega star. Should have had a better career. Too many injuries, too many strikeouts. Key contributor on the 88 team though a lot of people credit Gibson for making Marshall play harder.
